Education
Who you’re targeting, how you’ll reach them, and why this matters for Cardano?
This project targets 200 Computer Science/Information Technology students at Tamale Technical University and the University for Development Studies in the capital city of the Northern Region of Ghana.
The targeted students will be reached through the organization and delivery of a comprehensive educational program to empower them with Cardano knowledge and practical skills in using Cardano wallets, and Project Catalyst. A Cardano Student Club will also be established to sustain the impact of the project.
This project matters for Cardano because it is determined to drive ADA adoption and ecosystem growth thereby promoting Cardano.
Provide a list of key activities of your project:
• Educational Workshops: a six biweekly seminars covering blockchain fundamentals including Cardano infrastructure.
• Cardano Student Club: establish a TaTU and UDS Cardano Student Club to sustain engagements and encourage students to propose innovative ideas for Future Catalyst funds.
•Awareness Campaign: on-campus and social media promotions to onboard students as Cardano users, encourage wallet creation.
•Real-World Integration: partner with local businesses to accept ADA for small transactions demonstrating ADA’s utility and incentivizing student adoption.
What are your success metrics?
What are your success metrics?
•200 students complete at least 5 of 6 workshops (90% attendance).
•180 students create Cardano wallets and perform at least one ADA transaction.
•100 students join the TaTU and UDS Cardano Student Club.
•15,000 social media impressions from awareness campaigns.
•5 local businesses accept ADA for student transactions.
•10 student-led Catalyst proposal drafts submitted to the next Catalyst Fund round.
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
This project will deliver a comprehensive educational program to empower TaTU & UDS CS/IT students with Cardano knowledge and practical skills, driving ADA adoption and ecosystem growth through:
•Educational Workshops: six biweekly seminars covering blockchain fundamentals, Cardano’s architecture, smart contracts (Plutus/Haskell basics), Cardano wallets, CNTs, and Project Catalyst funding opportunities.
•Cardano Student Club: establish a TaTU and UDS Cardano Student Club to sustain engagement, host monthly meetups, and encourage students to propose innovative ideas for future Catalyst funds.
•Awareness Campaign: on-campus and social media promotions to onboard students as Cardano users, encourage wallet creation, micro-transactions, and ADA use in local businesses (e.g., campus cafés).
• Real-World Integration: partner with local businesses to accept ADA for small transactions (e.g., coffee, snacks), demonstrating Cardano’s utility and incentivizing student adoption.
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
IMPACT
•ADA Adoption: Onboard 200 students as Cardano users who will create wallets and engage in ADA transactions, increasing network activity and ADA utility in Ghana.
•Ecosystem Growth: equip students with skills to contribute to Cardano through future dApps and Catalyst proposals, fostering long-term innovation.
•Community Building: establish a TaTU and UDS Cardano Student Club with 50+ members to sustain engagement and promote Cardano in the Northern Region.
•Real-World Utility: promote ADA as a payment method through local business partnerships, creating a micro-economy around TaTU (e.g. 1,000 ADA in transactions).

How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
This project is designed to provide immense and significant value for money for the Cardano Ecosystem through:
Cardano Ecosystem Growth: this project will onboard at least 200 new users who are potential developers thereby increasing grassroots adoption and participation in the Cardano Ecosystem and Project Catalyst.
ADA Adoption: this project will also increase network activity by increasing ADA transactions and network usage.
Contribute to grassroots Participation in Project Catalyst: this project will train students to contribute to dApps development through Project Catalyst Funding rounds as well as proposal submissions thereby strengthening Cardano’s decentralised innovation.
Promotes Inclusion & Sustainability: this project will promote Cardano in underserved regions, aligning with its mission of global financial empowerment and decentralized governance. The Cardano Student Club to be established will serve as a long-term hub, ensuring ongoing engagement without continuous funding.
The above represent a great value for money for the Cardano Ecosystem for funding the successful implementation of this project in Project Catalyst Fund 15.
