Our proposal aims to “Reboot” the CardanoBeam app, transforming it into a cutting-edge GPS-based event and ticket management system on the Cardano blockchain.
Unlike the original 2022 version, which utilized outdated Cardano technology, our approach leverages the latest advancements such as Aiken for smart contract development, Reference Inputs, and Inline Datums.
We will showcase the revamped Cardano Beam at major sporting events in Spring 2026, demonstrating Cardano's capabilities in real-world applications.

The MVP will demonstrate a fully functional, on-chain event and ticketing system rebuilt in Aiken, leveraging Reference Inputs and Inline Datums to reduce transaction costs. Users can create events, issue NFT tickets, and verify attendance in real-time.
The MVP will be deployed on the Cardano Mainnet and accessible via web and mobile apps. The community can help by testing ticket purchases, attending test events, reporting bugs, and providing feedback to improve usability and smart contract functionality.
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.
Success will be measured by on-chain usage and engagement at events. Key metrics include the number of events created, NFT tickets minted, and transactions executed on-chain.
We target 100 users interacting with 1,000 ticket-related transactions on Cardano Mainnet at each of the events. Success will also consider community feedback and bug reports.

Cardano Beam is a GPS based event and ticket management system built on the Cardano blockchain. First launched in 2022, it has already been tested in real-world events. As one of the first apps to launcg on Cardano is used early tech which is now outdated. To stay relevant and scale, the platform needs modernization. We will update the smart contracts to use the latest Aiken language and rest of the infra to use public blockchain indexers. The smart contract will be open sourced for others to learn and build similar GPS based applications

How It Works
For Event Organizers
Anyone can set up an event (concert, sports, conference, etc.) without relying on centralized platforms like Ticketmaster. Organizers define ticket prices, event locations, and payout conditions. Smart contracts handle ticket sales, distribution, payments, and rewards - removing intermediaries, lowering costs, and increasing trust.

For Participants
Users browse events via the Cardano Beam Mobile App or website (Events Page). Tickets can be purchased with ADA or credit card. At the event, tickets are displayed as a QR code, which organizers scan for entry. Organizers can also drop POAP certificates or rewards at GPS locations for attendees to collect.

Cardano Beam’s Unique Features
Organizers or communities can place rewards along a route. A smart contract locks assets until a participant physically passes that location, then transfers them instantly to their wallet.

A new ticketing solution was built where ownership of an NFT is verified in 5 steps by independently verifying the ownership of the NFT on chain and time bound with a short time interval by generating and scanning a QR code in the Cardano Beam app.
An events marketplace that lets event organizers create an event and advertise it on the Cardano Beam website. Participants can buy a ticket to the event, which is delivered as an NFT to their Cardano Beam mobile app, which they use to gain physical access to the event and collect rewards at the location.
Fiat on-ramp was built that allows non-crypto native users to participate in events by buying tickets with a credit card. This uses a cross-chain bridge (which the team also built) where payments made with a credit card are converted on-chain on the Polygon network, and the ticket is delivered on the Cardano network. Very few other projects on Cardano accept fiat payments which is necessary to drive adoption across non-crypto users.
