[Campaign Category] Category Questions
Describe what makes your idea innovative compared to what has been previously launched in the market (whether by you or others).
Most Cardano tools today are general blockchain explorers, not trader-focused data products.
What exists today
- Cardano and Hydra explorers focus on generic ledger data: blocks, transactions, stake pools, tokens/NFTs, network stats.
- Even if users combine several explorers, they cannot see trading flows on Hydra L2, or retrieve structured, backtest-ready history tailored to a single DEX.
What this proposal adds
- Integrated DeltaDeFi Trading Data Hub
- A dedicated data platform (data.deltadefi.io) that hosts DeltaDeFi trading history and related market data in a clean directory structure (trades, candlesticks, aggregate trades).
- Data is partitioned (daily/monthly) with stable paths and published checksums so DeltaDeFi traders and quants can safely use it for backtesting, monitoring and research.
- Trader-centric perspective
- The platform is designed around trading workflows (strategy design, risk checks, post-trade analysis) rather than protocol debugging.
- It brings the level of transparency and data access professional traders are used to on major venues into a Hydra-based DEX context.
Why this is innovative for Cardano
- It demonstrates how L2 trading on Cardano can be observable, analysable and auditable, rather than a “partial black box” hidden behind a UI.
By doing so, it helps position Cardano’s Hydra stack as a credible foundation for professional, data-driven trading.
Describe what your prototype or MVP will demonstrate, and where it can be accessed.
The MVP will demonstrate an end-to-end view of DeltaDeFi trading on Hydra by publishing historical trading data details.
What the MVP will demonstrate
DeltaDeFi Trading Data Hub
- Publicly readable datasets of DeltaDeFi-related market/trading history, including trades, candlesticks and aggregate trades for at least one core pair.
- Daily/monthly partitions, stable URL paths and checksums, so users can reliably download and analyse data.
- Documentation and examples explaining file formats, URL structure and sample commands for basic analysis and backtesting.
DeltaDeFi-specific transparency
- The hub show how DeltaDeFi actually behaves on Hydra L2, rather than only exposing generic network activity.
Where it can be accessed
Rationale
The MVP is designed so that any interested trader, community member or reviewer can inspect DeltaDeFi’s Hydra environment without special permissions, verify that the system behaves as claimed, and start using real data to prototype strategies and risk frameworks.
Describe realistic measures of success, ideally with on-chain metrics.
We define success in terms of data completeness, actual usage by traders, and observable Hydra activity linked to DeltaDeFi.
Data & Platform Completeness
- Expose via https://data.deltadefi.io with daily/monthly partitions least one core trading pair has ≥ 2 months (or the maximum available) DeltaDeFi-related:
- Trades
- Candlesticks (5m/15m/30m/1h)
- Aggregate trades
- All datasets publish checksums in the documentation
Usage and adoption by DeltaDeFi users
- Platform usage metrics (over the project period), for eample:
- Qualitative adoption
- Feedback or testimonials from a small number of active DeltaDeFi traders or strategy builders who use the platform for backtesting or trade verification
On-chain Metrics
Because the MVP runs on Cardano + Hydra Preprod, we can measure:
- Total number of Hydra transactions in those heads during the project period.
How we will report success
- All metrics (data coverage, usage, Hydra activity) will be summarised in the Catalyst clost-out report and video
Overall, success means that DeltaDeFi’s Hydra trading is no longer a partial black box, but a transparent, data-rich environment that serious traders can analyse, trust and build strategies for—while also showcasing to the broader Cardano community how a Hydra-based DEX can meet professional expectations.
[Your Project and Solution] Solution
Please describe your proposed solution and how it addresses the problem
Existing Cardano and Hydra explorers focus on general blockchain data (blocks, transactions, stake pools, NFTs). Even if users combine several explorers, they still cannot see DeltaDeFi-specific trading data on Hydra L2 or get trader-oriented history for designing and checking strategies.
Our solution is to build an integrated DeltaDeFi trading data platform that exposes the data behind DeltaDeFi’s Hydra-based DEX.
What we will build
- DeltaDeFi Trading Data Hub
- Hosts historical market data and DeltaDeFi trading history in a clear directory structure (trades, candlesticks, aggregate trades)
- Data is partitioned (daily/monthly) with stable paths and published checksums so DeltaDeFi traders and quants can safely use it for backtesting, monitoring and research.
- Documentation explains the URL structure, formats and example commands to download and analyse the data.
How it addresses the problem
- Turns DeltaDeFi on Hydra from a "partial black box" into a transparent trading venue, where users can independently verify trading activities
- Gives DeltaDeFi traders and strategy designers reliable source of historical data tailored to how the DeltaDeFi platform actually operates, enabling realistic backtesting, risk checks and post-trade analysis.
- By providing the level of transparency and data access professional traders expect, we make DeltaDeFi a more attractive venue for market makers and systematic traders, which can help deepen liquidity on DeltaDeFi and, over time, contribute to stronger liquidity in the Cardano DeFi ecosystem.
[Your Project and Solution] Impact
Please define the positive impact your project will have on the wider Cardano community
DeltaDeFi is building a Hydra-based non-custodial DEX. Today, users must trust that the Hydra DEX behaves correctly because existing Cardano/Hydra explorers only show general blockchain data, not DeltaDeFi-specific trading data. This proposal makes DeltaDeFi’s trading activity transparent, analysable and auditable, which is key if we want serious traders to treat Cardano/Hydra as a professional venue.
Positive Impact on the Wider Cardano Community
Better Conditiions for Professional Traders
- A structured history of DeltaDeFi trades and market data helps market makers and systematic traders backtest and review execution. This can make DeltaDeFi a more attractive venue, supporting deeper liquidity and healthier price discovery on Cardano over time.
Concrete showcase for Hydra
- The project shows a real, auditable Hydra trading setup running on Cardano, which the community, partners and potential investors can study
How We will Measure Impact
- Platform usage: unique visitors and successful data/API requests on data.deltadefi.io.
- Trading activities: number of Hydra trading transactions in DeltaDeFi
- Trading signals: number of DeltaDeFi users accessing the explorer/data tools and directional changes in trading activity after launch.
How will we Share Outputs
- Public access to the trading data hub at https://data.deltadefi.io
- Links to access guide/ documentation (on-site or GitHub or Gitbook)
- Close-out report and close-out video
Overall, this project raises the standard of data transparency and trader experience for a Hydra-based DEX, helping Cardano move closer to the expectations of professional trading venues.

Resource overview
The budget primarily covers:
- Core engineering (≈70–75%) - backend/data engineers and Hydra engineers designing and implementing the data pipelines, indexer and explorer
- DevOps / infrastructure (≈10–15%) - Preprod environments, monitoring, storage, CI/CD and operational overhead for running the integrated platform.
- Product management, documentation & reporting (≈10–15%) - requirement refinement, milestone planning, user-facing docs, and Catalyst reporting (milestone updates, close-out).
[Final Pitch] Value for Money
How does the cost of the project represent value for the Cardano ecosystem?
Engineering-heavy, lean budget
Most of the cost goes to specialised backend/data and Hydra engineers to build three production data pipelines. We deliberately exclude marketing, giveaways or events so funds are focused on core delivery.
Direct impact on liquidity and trader confidence
The platform gives DeltaDeFi traders transparent trading history and Hydra L2 visibility, matching what professional market makers expect. This lowers the barrier for serious traders to use DeltaDeFi, helping deepen liquidity and strengthen Cardano DeFi over time.
Reuse of existing DeltaDeFi infrastructure
We build on top of our already running Hydra DEX stack and internal tooling. Catalyst funds pay for the incremental development of the integrated data platform and explorer, while ongoing infra and maintenance costs are absorbed by DeltaDeFi.
Milestone-tied, publicly verifiable outputs
Each budget tranche maps to clear milestones (data pipelines, checksums, documentation, close-out report/video). Success can be checked via public URLs and observable Preprod activity, giving the community strong accountability for how funds are used.
