A Developer Community portal, to support and provide reference material for developers entering the Cardano ecosystem

Experienced IT professionals - enterprise systems, applications development and solution architecture

ADADevs will make Cardano more accessible to new and experienced developers by providing a consolidated, easy to access resource portal for developers to find technical reference, training material, suppport forums and profiles of Cardano developers and projects.

ADADevs seeks to achieve a number of objectives:

1. Be an initial point of reference for finding and linking Cardano technical resources, libraries & knowledge repository for developers. The goal is to promote useful links and resources related to Cardano blockchain technology
2. Provide a support forum for members to raise technical queries, questions and discussion of current constraints or challenges with the Cardano ecosystem
3. Actively promote technical discussion of Cardano tools, functions, capabilities and emerging projects, including advice and suggestions to help members overcome technical issues / roadblocks from peers and the broader Cardano developer community
4. Enable developers, technologists and entrepreneurs to share ideas, proposals and showcase projects within the Cardano ecosystem,
5. Enable Cardano project teams to pitch and attract developers or promote new opportunities
The initial portal implementation will act as a proof of concept
- capture interest from the developer community,
- demonstrate Cardano technical capabilities and potential functionality
- attract and build an initial community of early adopters, creators and developers
Proposed components:
1. Reference library and Cardano technical resources
2. Training, onboarding and educational resources
3. Developer support forums and channels
4. Profile and showcase proposals and projects
Problem Background:
The Cardano architecture and ecosystem has been designed and developed to provide a robust, modular and scalable, yet solid foundation for future growth and development. Cardano has followed a robust peer review assurance and release model, and is now emerging as a leading blockchain technology ecosystem for both blockchain and enterprise development.
However, as an emerging ecosystem, it introduces many novel concepts, design approaches and uses the Haskell functional programming language that is not currently widely used or well understood by the broader developer, technology or blockchain communities.
This presents both a challenge and opportunity to build the Cardano developer ecosystem by attracting new and experienced developers, technolgists, early adopters and entrepreneurs into the space.
This proposal seeks to address this by making Cardano more accessible to new developers, and also providing a curated space for emerging Cardano developer community to find, discuss and share useful insights to support each other as we build and grow the Cardano ecosystem.

NOTE: After speaking with @eva.oberholzer and Tommy Kammerer from Cardano Foundation - this proposal will focus primarily on supporting and enabling new enterprise developers looking at getting into the Cardano ecosystem.

The Cardano Foundation is expected to also be implementing a Developer platform in the near future. As such, this proposal will focus on creating a Cardano developer onboarding portal, to introduce new devs to the Cardano ecosystem.
