Can you create a faucet to encourage adoption or usage of Cardano over the next 6 months?
This is the total amount allocated to Cardano Faucet Challenge.
Adoption & Fun
May lead to Dapps, on-chain use & promotion of information about Cardano
Interest & adoption by the wider crypto community
An ongoing Faucet(s) that continues to draw people into Cardano
Fun for our community
Has the faucet been used? - have the reward funds been used up
Did it increase user wallet adoption?
Did it use on-chain features? E.g. metadata or Dapps
Did it promote information about Cardano? Integration with current ADA infrastructure e.g. pooltool, adapools
Was it secure? Privacy of participants, lack of bot attacks
Growth e.g. mentions across ADA social media
Were the "tokenomics" correct? Did it provide too much or too little reward for participating?
Cost of creation vs prize fund amount
Bonus Metric: ease of use or "Proof of Dad" Get Charles to mention in one of his AMA's that his Dad used your faucet
Create some interesting, fun, secure Faucets that promote Cardano
Examples of other cryptocurrencies Faucets
satoshiquiz -Bitcoin
Black MonKeys - Banano
Adafrogs bubble pop game - Cardano
Social media tipbots
Coinbase Earn - multiple currencies
Addressing the Assessments
Firstly if you assessed my proposal or even if you just read this far - Thanks!
Experience Worries - You don't understand the challenge. I am not making the faucets, I haven't proposed my idea disguised as a challenge. Address these to those who actually submit ideas to the challenge if/when it gets through to fund 5. I've pointed this question out as unneccessary (in a community fund proposal setting) to the catalyst team but understand it is early days, things will get reused that need to be asked of actual projects.
Funding Allocation - Of the $80k ($100k less the 20% in rewards to voters) I think it should be $79,999 to one proposer to build a faucet that gives away $1
seriously though its not up to me to set guidelines for the proposers but I imagine 4-5 winners asking for $16k-20k each with $1k-2K to build it and a $14k-19k as faucet funds if you really want to know my perfect outcome
Wallet Adoption Metric - Yeah this could be hard to measure i was just chucking things out there that people may want to measure for success
Cardano Doesn't Need Faucets, it's Great the Way it is - You're probably right, but it may be fun for some people.
People Won't Do Anything for Small Amounts of ADA from a Faucet - Tell that to the people who complained in the bitcoin forums to Charles about only getting paid 0.05btc for answering a question
I do wish we'd been able to discuss these points in the comments before the assessment stage but i understand there were so many proposals to read through, thanks again!
