Disruptive IT Cameroon+ WADA: Team of passionate software architects/developers with strong foundations in functional programming paradigm

Strategic Direction

First: Architect and build a distributed integrated management system for our co-proposer, WADA. Our team of highly skilled developers can complete this web app in 6-9 months if funding is available. This would give WADA a tool to streamline / optimize its proposal outreach mission, and therefore make the Cardano Catalyst Project more accessible and understandable to new users they bring in.

Next: Explore the promising potential of the latest in distributed ledger technology (Directed Acyclic Graphs DAG) to build the financial infrastructure for the software developers and architects of tomorrow. This distributed ledger technology is ground breaking on so many levels but specifically applicable to the African paradigm. It offers scalability where blockchain technology currently misses the mark, and answers some of the concerns on the level of micro-payments such as lower/almost non existent transaction time and fees. This is more of a long term project that our team would start exploring while developing the web app; a white paper is likely to be our first deliverable :)

Steps to complete the integrated management system

• Brainstorm WADA NETWORK SYSTEM domain space through iterative event storming sessions
• Architect solution space using Domain Driven Design principles, Micro Services, and Onion architecture strategies
• Identify and build core sub domains using Servant, Haskell, Elm, and Tachyons CSS
• Build supporting and generic sub domains using any other available tools
• Integrate the whole system and build web + mobile interface

Steps to architect the DAG

• Set up a Research and Development team within our IT Hub to explore graph theory
• Produce roadmap/white paper for eventual DAG implementation

What success looks like
The final product will be a solid internal web app proving the solidity of functional programming languages, and serving as a training model and distributed management tool to use in WADA and their various other Hubs across Africa.

• Set up CI/CD logistics for web app development and management

Risk Management

The truth is that, yes, even if this proposal is not funded we will still have a highly qualified team working on volunteer basis, driven solely by their passion to see Cardano and Blockchain technology spread throughout Africa. That is sort of the message of the proposal though. How are we as a community supporting this more solid robust technology (functional programming paradigm shift + distributed ledger technology) that takes more time and care to create if not by providing funding for start-ups with a passion and mission to help Cardano succeed. After all, Cardano itself was built using thorough, scientifically sound, and thoughtful processes to get to the point it is at today.

Proposing Team

Disruptive IT Cameroon: 3 functional programmers well versed in Haskell, and Elm. One full stack developer and overall enthusiastic team that fully supports WADA and it's mission. WADA, still in its early stages, which means that passionate developers and entrepreneurs like ourselves have been working on volunteer basis. We think that what we are doing could not only benefit WADA (and therefore Cardano) but could also be used as a Proof of Concept model for start-ups looking to adopt functional programming paradigm throughout Africa.

Collaborators/Partners

WADA: West African Decentralized Alliance is a fast growing community in West and other parts of Africa and Diaspora. By supporting the "building of an integrated management system from the ground up…," we hope to provide a one-stop platform where our incoming leaders can quickly access information and other resources to easily onboard into Project Catalyst and ultimately Voltaire. Not only does WADA help onboard proposers, but they educate about distributed ledger technology and more specifically Cardano. They are heavily focusing their outreach on making Project Catalyst more accessible to newcomers by thoroughly explaining and supporting the processes from the submission through the voting stage. WADA's outreach is currently limited by their website capacity. Providing the resources to them to make a solid web app/ integrated management system is key to keeping their momentum, and spreading Cardano philosophy throughout Africa.
