General Idea
This project aims to create a Cardano community at Ethiopian universities, with an initial focus on Addis Ababa University, which has 50,000+ students.
Phase 1 RECRUITMENT
In phase 1, we will hold a public lecture/ introduction seminar to inform students about Blockchain, cryptocurrency, and Cardano. We will then invite students to apply for the ambassadorship program, which will assign project student ambassadors for each AAU campus. The student ambassadors will receive more detailed training on the project and on how to create awareness within their community. The ambassadors will be responsible for:
- Preparing targeted informational resources about Cardano
- Running competitions and activities that will engage the community
- Distributing branding material and marketing within the student body
Objective 1.1: Introduce Cardano to the University Students
Activities
- Hold Introductory seminars about blockchain and Cardano
- Develop learning materials and brochures
- Register students interested in learning more about Cardano
Indicators and data to measure results - Number of students that attend the seminars
- Seminar evaluations
- Resources that the students receive
- Number of students that receive training for the Ambassadorship program
- Number of branded materials distributed
Expected Results - Students get a broad understanding of Cardano and blockchain technology
- 500 students attend introductory seminars and 1000 students engaged
Objective 1.2: Recruit Students for the Ambassadorship Program
Activities - Hold an intensive workshop about Cardano
- Select students that are willing to take the leadership role in the ambassadorship program
- Equip Ambassadors with the tools and capacity to recruit more students
Indicators and data to measure results - Number of students that attend the workshop
- Workshop evaluation
- Number of students that apply to take lead in the Ambassadorship program
- Number of students that take part in the workshop
- Number of events and activities planned by the students
- Number of students that take part in the student-led activities
Expected Results - Students are equipped with information and skills to expand to other campuses and universities.
- 150 Students registered for membership
- 10 Ambassadors selected for further training/ Awareness
Phase 2 EXPANSION
In phase 2, we will expand to different campuses and colleges. In this phase, the student ambassadors will take ownership of the expansion of the student club at their respective campuses. The ambassadors will receive further training from experts on the field. In this phase, we will hold a university-wide competition for the best blockchain project idea relevant to Ethiopia.
Objective 2.1: Engage New Recruits
Activities - Ambassadors organize events about Cardano in different Colleges
- Student members distribute learning materials and brochures
- Ambassadors register students interested in learning more about Cardano
Indicators and data to measure results - Number of students that attend the events
- Event evaluations
- Resources that the attendees receive
- Number of students that sign up for membership

Expected Results - A wide-ranging buzz is created around Cardano in different Colleges.
- 10000 students engaged
- 1000 new members sign up
- 50 New Ambassadors sign up
- 15 new colleges/campuses engaged
Objective 2.2: Build Strong Student Community around Cardano
Activities - Develop Competitions for students of different backgrounds to participate in
- Organize a Conference to Provide further training and growth opportunities for Ambassadors
- Organize fun events and activities for members
Indicators and data to measure results - Number of Events held
- Number of students that take part in the competitions
- Number of students that apply to take lead in the Ambassadorship program
- Percentage of Ambassadors that attend the Conference
- Number of new colleges or Campuses engaged

Expected Results - Students organize a self-funded gathering space for members
- Conference Organized for Ambassadors to strategize the expansion

In a Final Phase 3 (which is not included in this fund proposal) we hope to expand to all universities in Ethiopia, and start a stake pool run by students and its proceeds going into sustaining the program and the member engagement as well as a membership fee. Members will get networking opportunities and various exclusive training. Membership will expand to 5000 and we will cap the ambassadors at 100. An annual recruitment of 1000 members is expected.
