Currently there exists no standard for token transfer interoperability bridges between Cardano and other chains (L1s and sidechains).
We will create a metadata standard which will allow developers to unify their interoperability bridges interfaces.
This is the total amount allocated to Cross-chain Asset Transfer Standard.

Whether one is building a bridge between Cardano and Ethereum or Cardano and a sidechain (like we at dcSpark are doing with the Milkomeda sidechain bridge), building an interface for bridge transfer requests is required. Currently no such standard exists, and every individual bridge project must create their own from scratch.
dcSpark will work towards making a generalized standard that allows developers to add in extra information about the specific chain that the assets are intended to be sent to. Furthermore it will provide other quality-of-life improvements such as a refund address and potentially other fields which standardizes the refund process in case bridges run into problems.
This standard will be used in the Milkomeda protocol and will be open for other bridges to use for their own bridge implementations to get off the ground more quickly.
