Hackathons for Startups in Ethiopia

Organizing 48 hours hackathons which will be conducted once a month in different incubation hubs, providing the participants with a good amount of information about the Cardano blockchain and features it supports, the Cardano project catalyst and town halls, business cases examples that are compliant with Cardan's targets, and brainstorming sessions in contextualizing the use-cases into their startups.

Video record the events to share on different platforms.

Have juries with sharp eyes for win-win-type business cases, to filter the top 10 projects from each hackathon.

Reward the top ten project startups in items and/or cashes.

12 Months Budget plan:

• Event date expenses: 21,600 USD for 12 hackathons of two days (900 USD per day, juries, and coordinator per dime, even hall rent two days per hackathon)
• Rewards for each project: 100 USD worth of items or cash
• Total reward expense: 12,000 USD for the top-ten 120 projects out of the 12 hackathons in a year.
• Hackaton marketing and media expenses:  1,200 USD for a year
• Fairly short Video and photo recording of the events: 200 USD per hackathon;  1,200 USD

The total expense to run this project for a year is 37,800 USD

Success Measurement:

• Picking 120 practical project plans to the catalyst
• More than 50% of the ideas funded by Cardano
• The participants become active community members at the project catalyst and town halls
