Climate Change: THE Challenge

Cardano has the blockchain, community & bright minds to build the applications we need to regenerate our ecosystem and our economy-NOW

Creation of DApps, protocols, new networks and incentives to regenerate local and regional ecosystems and economies

At the end of this challenge we will ask, 

"How did we contribute to solving the issues around Climate Change?"

• Total potential carbon footprint of funded proposals is net zero or better
• Number of submitted proposals that could directly & measurably regenerate local ecosystems and economies
• Number of funded proposals directly & measurably regenerating local ecosystems and economies
• Number of collaborations formed to build regenerative solutions on the Cardano blockchain
• Increased community understanding of how blockchain technologies can be leveraged to create solutions that are net zero or better
• Proposals are transparent, open-source, and collaborative with examples of how the ideas presented in the proposal can be duplicated across other communities and organizations
• Real solutions with real impact are funded

The Project Catalyst platform is where the community could generate and support bright ideas to face climate change, make a direct impact and start a ripple effect. The focus is on proposals that have clear, measurable and impactful solutions to mitigate climate change.

Guiding questions

• What will have the greatest impact on climate change in the short and long term?
• What real-world regenerative solutions already exist that would benefit from applications developed on the Cardano blockchain now, and in the near future?
• How can ideas that "do less bad" be improved to "do more good"?
• How can we incentivize individuals, local communities, councils and municiple authorities, businesses and governments to prioritize taking action to reduce our overall carbon footprint?
• What are the most useful and scalable applications to put Cardano at the forefront of real, actionable, transparent solutions which reduce the legacy load of greenhouse gases we will pass on to future generations?
• How can we increase mainstream adoption of solutions built on the Cardano?
• How can we increase awareness and engagement in being citizens of the future, for the future?

Challenge amounts should only be proposed in increments of $25K. Other amounts not in these increments will be rounded up. E.g. $27,500 will be rounded up to $50,000.
