The DAO of Trailer Parks

Trailer parks are among the most trust-barren of locales wherever you find them. I'm reaching out on behalf of all trailer parks, their customers, their owners and their employees. With your help, we'll make them winners in the coming new age. 

This proposal is structured to supply and activate this real world use case using templates and infrastructure supplied by other Catalyst initiatives. Funding requested is a contingency for unique requirements of this project not otherwise addressed by other initiatives. Looking forward to community and other submitters' input as to which initiatives would be the most appropriate.

The DAO of Trailer Parks will attract collective intelligence through the blockchain to address trailer park inequity and opportunity. Why do we need a DAO of Trailer Parks? It's a bigger idea than it first may seem.

Trailer parks are predominantly rural. Quite simply they are critical-mass points of often town-size density in the rural fabric. (There they sit, row on row.) As such they are a toehold opportunity to benefit rural low income people through a simple, rapid application of decentralized technology. We can build on that success with 'kill the middlemen of necessity' advances (reservations, payments, business scale-up through DAO business partnerships, etc. etc.) This will soothe grievances and that should help bring science-favouring change to the hinterlands that need it most.

DAO's addressing physical world problems are pretty rare. A DAO that helps trailer owners, park owners and other stakeholders get better outcomes in the face of real downside risk is a high-value objective for Cardano. There is clearly one and only one blockchain best suited to address a trailer park's elevated need for verifiable trust and we're ready with an MVP starting point vision and a spectacular, verging on new age trailer park ripe for change. 

I think we could make this a genesis seed of first world adoption for Cardano by building a DAO that solves real world problems all the way out to the trailer park! Let's do it with the objective for it to become a Bulrush of DAO seeds. There's typically around 220,000 seeds in the Bulrush flowerheads up the road from our park, btw.

Our DAO of Trailer Parks MVP starts with a decision-making-aid for trailer park planning. No securities issues, just immutability with definite outcomes driven by transparent, inclusive decision making. The MVP can be based on not much more than a Catalyst-style voting frontend and a handful of NFT's to be offered in an auction. The DAO of Trailer Parks has a roadmap too, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Will share as needed.

Scope of work: Need developer partners for broader DAO templates/infrastructure from other Catalyst DAO proposers please! Funding request here is for this DAO's peculiar needs w.r.t. the front-end, NFT minting, auction pieces and user onboarding. My role is articulating real world trailer park use cases for MVP and later. 

Funding and Development

On offer to the Cardano developer community who join us: Some upfront payment from this Catalyst request along with a share of Trailer ada according to a token model I'd appreciate some help with. (Affectionately, possibly known as TADA!)

Project Milestones In Reverse Order (Roughly 12, 6 and 3 months!)

Real world auction of first trailer park Preferred Plan token to happen on October 31, 2022. Timeline is fixed with a parallel real world process as a backup for the DAO of Trailer Parks. 

Park owner Preferred Plan and Reserve Bid Selection: August 22, 2022.

Public launch with opening for Stakeholder onboarding and plan submission: March 1, 2022.

Partnerships with appropriate players to effect implementation using appropriate templates by Dec. 31, 2021.

TBD as needed: Wyoming or Vermont? DAO entity formation to manage tax implications by when? 

Success Metrics

One or more trailer park transition transactions amounting to $6M CDN (This may vary lower if business-only change as compared to an outright real estate property and business sale. No offer of any type is implied by this amount.) 

One or more DAO of Trailer Parks using Cardano as governance/management chain in 6 months.

One or more DAO of Trailer Parks implemented on a selected toolset/framework.

The Simplest (MVP) Use Case for DAO of Trailer Parks

Here's the initial MVP use case. Looking forward to your feedback!

While later stages should deal with trailer park operations and investments along with ongoing governance, the best place to start is where things always get hardest for everyone involved in a trailer park. This is the time just before a trailer park changes hands in some way.

After years of trailer park experience, the entry MVP for the DAO of Trailer Parks is a 'Fair Exit' app to facilitate needed changes through the uber-impetus of trailer owner passions arising with impending park ownership transitions, owner retirements.

The MVP is a Trailer Park Planning Process addressing the following :

• Awareness.

• Participation.

• Information sharing and transparency.

• Stakeholder group formation.

• Plan creation and dissemination.

• Consensus building.

• Appropriate control and influence for the park owner, trailer owners and other participants.

• And finally, an integrated auction process to initiate transition to the selected plan.

Roadmap thoughts for the longhaul are available on request for discussion.

The MVP Trailer Park Planning Process Use Case (Subject to Review)

• Create a single Park Plan NFT, held by the DAO, to represent the commitment of the owner of the trailer park to planning its future through the DAO of Trailer Parks.

• Issue a Group NFT to any stakeholder (Trailer owners, Park neighbours, broader community, government actors, investors, curious Cardano folk, etc.) who want to form a group.

• For accessibility, allow all Participants to identify themselves with Web 2 credentials (OAuth, UN/PW, etc.) to participate in the planning process and and ultimately to choose a group with which to associate themselves.

• Issue Plan NFTs, held by the DAO, for any Plan proposed by any Participant associated with a Group.

• Allow Group Participants to vote on any Plan from any group at any point up to a date deadline.

• Create a smart contract to choose the Plan NFT for each Group based on the votes for each plan, up to the date deadline.

• Park Owner will pick a 'Preferred' Plan or Plans from the vote-approved Plans of the various groups before a predetermined date deadline.

• Create a smart contract with a fixed execution date for the auction of the business and/or the property, based on the Plans submitted by any of the groups who vote to do so.

• Each Owner-Preferred Plan will have an owner-selected Reserve Bid amount for each Preferred Plan that must be met for a Plan-Bid to be accepted as a valid bid.

• Prior to the auction, the Owner will pre-select the precedence order of Plan-Bid amounts, such that winning bid selection will be strictly determined by the Plan-Bid amounts and therefore driven by smart contract execution. Unclear at this point whether transparency requires this to shared.

• Auction Bids will consist of purchase offers for the business and/or the property based on any Owner-Preferred Plan tokens.

• The Purchaser will be bound to execute the selected plan after executing the purchase or will face a predetermined sanction.
