Despite having created a community to drive Cardano adoption in Latin America, massive growth and outreach is still very hard to accomplish
With an aggressive comm. plan to reach out using media platforms, ALDEA will bring key players to the ecosystem and be ready for the future!
This is the total amount allocated to Grow ALDEA, Grow Latin America.
OUR MISSION
ALDEA, the Latin American DAO, has been serving the community as a hub since its conception, aligned with its mission to enable change in Latin America by creating an ecosystem that will empower people and allow them to come together to communicate, self-govern, produce and trade as a Decentralized and Autonomous Community, with no third parties and with no central entities that may exercise any type of censorship in these interactions.
ALDEA needs some help to keep serving the community in a self-sustainable way, that's why we have submitted a separate proposal in this same Challenge, but at the same time we need to scale-up our community.
We strongly believe that the way to do this is through education and clear communication. That's the best way forward to drive mass Cardano adoption in the region and reach people outside the current blockchain community.
WHAT HAPPENED SO FAR AND HOW WE GOT HERE?
2021 set the beginning of a journey towards bringing the Cardano blockchain processes and tools to the Latin American communities.
We started creating a community from scratch: a forum for regional SPOs, bringing people together on different channels and gatherings. An example of such a collaboration is the ALDEA Wiki project, a winning proposal from Fund5, which provides incentivized ways for participants to learn, teach and collaborate with the Cardano community as a whole. This all comes together beautifully, truly building up towards ALDEA's mission: https://www.aldea-dao.org/about-eng.html of enabling change in the region by providing tools to communicate, self-govern, produce and trade.
After months of hard work, ALDEA was able to build not only the community, but also identify the mechanisms by which the DAO will be defined, through what is called "Iteration 0": https://iteracion0.aldea-dao.org/v/en/ (also available in Portuguese and Spanish). That's the name of the first iteration ALDEA is running, together with the community. During this iteration, which is still not automated or on-chain, ALDEA is learning how all of these interactions will be defined, to later on be formalized in a peer-reviewed whitepaper to finally be implemented.
NOW IS TIME TO SCALE-UP OUR COMMUNITY!
We're currently going through our first iteration as a DAO, where the community was able to raise ADA 7800 via the sale of ALDEA's first Official NFT Collection https://nft.aldea-dao.org/ , in order to fund proposals from the community aligned with two challenges: Social Impact & ALDEA Ecosystem, aiming to make a positive change in society and empower people, as well as engaging the community to actively participate in the different channels, forums and roles identified for the iteration, regardless of their professional background.
However, the number of proposals received so far is lower than expected…
With a total of 6 proposals received (in various stages of completion), we still need to attract more leaders and key players from the community, to come forward and submit their proposals.
We have different strategies to achieve this, however this brings to light the underlying issue that it's time to grow our community. Time to Scale-Up ALDEA.
OUR STRATEGY TO ACHIEVE THIS
Put in place a comprehensive Communications and Inbound Marketing 12-months plan across all major social networks, employing professionals to consistently create valuable content and organically growing our community to further Cardano's adoption in the region. Some of the roles we're looking for are:
Breakdown and key points for each platform:

Twitter, Instagram & Telegram
YouTube Videos
Medium Articles

TOTAL REQUESTED FUNDS FOR 12 MONTHS - USD 24980
AND WHAT HAPPENS AFTER 12 MONTHS?
In parallel to this proposal and activities for 12 months of consistent communication and content creation across all these platforms, ALDEA is currently working on making its treasury and projects self-sustainable in the mid-term.
One good example of this is our 2nd proposal in this same challenge, to improve our already functional NFT Marketplace, to feed the treasure while providing quality tools and services to the community.
There are other processes currently in design, which will be rolled-out during 2022, like minting, distributing and implementing different use cases for ALDEA's Governance Token, including a circuit with member stakepools, delegators and rewards.
It's important to also note that, since this proposal is aiming to exponentially grow ALDEA's community & Cardano adoption in the region, after 12 more months of hard work doing that, not only the community will be bigger, bringing more ideas and projects to life, but also the need for rapid growth and such an aggressive communication strategy will be smaller.
KPIs & METRICS
Of course, the focus here is to increase the number of followers, subscribers and engagement across all these social networks. In order to measure, we'll use the tools already provided by these platforms, in combination with external tools to merge all these metrics and provide us with analytics across the board, to fine tune the approach and strategy along the road.
However, the key metric here is how much the DAO grows and the community's participation on its future iterations, which is key in driving Cardano & DeFi adoption for non-English speakers of the region, coming from different social and professional backgrounds.
CHECKLIST
How my proposal impacts the challenge metrics & How I address the challenge question?
We firmly believe this proposal is intrinsically aligned with the Challenge, its metrics, its question and the overall mission of both Project Catalyst and Cardano, which goes beyond a cryptocurrency and strives to empower communities and people in the developing world, with DeFi tools, blockchain technologies and everything they have to offer. By growing ALDEA, we grow Latin America and subsequently grow Cardano's adoption across the region.
Definition of success after 3, 6 and 12 months.
3 months into the project, we expect to have all these communication channels and social networks fully functional, consistently creating content and the number of followers & subscribers growing across the board.
6 months into the project, we expect not only for the number of followers & subscribers to keep on growing, but to also see leaders emerging from them, to take a more active participation in the different projects and areas ALDEA.
12 months into the project, we expect to see the impact of all this helping the DAO to arrive to a self-sustainable state, with a diverse community from all corners of latin america and the hispanic world, as well as a much higher participation, budget and scope for future iterations of the DAO.
