We're a global group with diverse skills, interest, languages, and expertise - personal & professional.

tl;dr

Asking for $25,000 to directly support 10 Twitter Spaces which are currently operating for free while providing tremendous community growth, education, and vibrancy to the Cardano ecosystem.
These 10 spaces reach 1000s of people, across 50 hours, and 26 events every week
Every space is currently operating for free
These funds would help these spaces remain free and accessible so each space can continue their mission to grow, educate, and connect the Cardano Community.
Bolstering these established community spaces helps Cardano accelerate its growth which is particularly important as smart contracts, dApps, and more people build in the Cardano ecosystem. People need education, support, belonging, and trusted resources to stay involved

Introduction

ADA Café Purpose

ADA Café curates digital spaces & services. In doing so, the Café connects people and ideas aimed at accelerating growth of Cardano adoption, innovation, and value to Team Human (you know, people). There will be additional products, services, and offerings from the ADA Café which will include long term support of the Spaces focused on this proposal.

Proposal Focus

ADA Café is an eclectic group of creators, technologists, and collectors. We intend to form a cooperative, multidisciplinary DAO (Cardano + IRL...one day) that achieves more of the ADA Café's intended purpose through three areas:

Community, Creators, & Curation
Technology & Tools
Capital & Governance

This proposal focuses on the most important area - Community.

Specifically, this proposal aims to directly support 10 Twitter Spaces regularly hosting community, education, and gathering events every day of the week – for free.

Every week, there are 26 events, providing 50+ hours of content, 1000s of people reached across 10 spaces covering a range of topics: education, Cardano news, blockchain, NFTs, music, poetry, DeFi, and just encouraging connecting with each other.

In a year, that's be 1300+ events, 2500+ Hours, and 1000s of new people finding a new home in Cardano.

A shared ethos of these Spaces is their steadfast focus on education, openness, respect, and encouraging current and new members to engage with the Cardano.

Target Audience

New and existing listening of the 10 Cardano Spaces, with a focus on new people and organizations

Funds Requested

$25,000

Use of Funds

Funds will be used exclusively to provide monthly payments to each show.
The current proposal is each show will be paid $35 per episode, paid monthly, until the funds are depleted. Current estimates means all shows could be paid for ~6 months.
The show will determine the use of funds. The shows maximum monthly payout will be capped at their current schedule.
Preserve core Cardano values in public spaces & engagement
The exact amount and frequency of payment may change pending approval from all Spaces. That said, paying and supporting Twitter Spaces hosts will remain the only use of these funds.

Timing

We will begin payments the first month after receiving the funds (pending approval) and agreed upon approach from the Space Hosts.

Why ADA Café Spaces Matter

As Cardano continues to grow, it's imperative that everyone wanting to engage with others in Cardano have dependable, trustworthy, and accessible places to engage in the Cardano ecosystem. It's how we will grow, together.

ADA Café aims to help fill the important societal role pubs, cafés, and gathering spaces have filled for millennia.

Every community needs places to connect with each other, share & debate ideas. We need places to connect us as we build the future.

It's happening today - right now (seriously!) in these Twitter Spaces. The serendipity of new people, fresh ideas, and true engagement is leading to projects, collaboration, education, and the formation of new entities.

It also provides a place for creators & builders to reach a bigger audience. An equally important service of these Spaces is providing a platform for those creating and building on Cardano to share their story in hopes of attracting new patrons, customers, or community members. This amplification of the dApps, art, and other projects building on Cardano helps accelerate our collective mission.

Definition of Success / Key Metrics

Success for this proposal comes in three important areas. The ADA Café supported Spaces:

All 10 shows have continued, carrying on the mission of growing the Cardano Community
All shows have grown to reach more people, specifically focused on bringing in new people & organizations
Additional Catalyst isn't required and AD Café has developed a sustainable model for Spaces to be self-supportive and align with the ADA Café DAO.
Extend the learnings from the original Space to support more creatives, builders, and architects even if they aren't direct ADA Café members.
