Cardano Hub Indonesia - Workshops

Building Cardano Indonesia Community by providing information & knowledge via workshops, led by Indonesian collaborators themselves.

Summary

We want to build Cardano Community Hub in Indonesia. Starting from the capital city, Jakarta and will eventually branch out to various other cities.

Cardano Hub Jakarta will host bi-weekly Indonesian language events, including community gatherings and educational workshops. At first, these will be online events due to pandemic restrictions, but they will become in-person as soon as the situation allows. Various coffee shops has shown interest in becoming venues for our gathering.

We will host the workshop via Zoom and post the event using Cardano Foundation's Official Meetup account.

In addition to that, we have created local community social media groups to enable daily communication between members, such as : Telegram, Discord, Instagram and a YouTube Channel (which you can find the link down below in the proposal).

Workshop Syllabus

We created 12 different topics that covers specific topic about Cardano blockchain + 1 big discussion about Cardano Ecosystem. You can check the syllabus (in Indonesian language) via Cardano Forum.

10. Blockchain development in Cardano (for developers)

11. How to become Stake Pool Operator (SPO)

12. Decentralized Identifiers (DID) & Atala PRISM

The workshop will be scheduled like this:

• Every 1st week of the month, we will run a specific topic from the syllabus list.
• Every 3rd week of the month, we will have discussion about Cardano Ecosystem (DEX, CNFT, lending, payment, oracle, etc.)

How Does Success Look Like

If funded, these reoccurring workshops will become copy paste templates that anyone can adopt and distribute. We envision new sets of mentors will come out of this year long effort. These new mentors will naturally become new distribution channels in the closer community they seek to develop. Eventually the goal of creating various Cardano Hub's throughout Indonesia will happen organically. A sustained expansion, meaning financial support by the community from Project Catalyst will ensure the scope of education will be nation wide and is very much aligned with the interest of Cardano's goal of being massively adopted.

Budget

• Host: 30 USD/hour x 2 hours x 2 session/month x 12 months = 1440 USD
• Speaker: 30 USD/hour x 2 hours x 2 session/month x 12 months = 1440 USD
• Video Editor: 30 USD/hour x 2 hours x 2 session/month x 12 months = 1440 USD
• Zoom Pro account with Webinar addition for 1 year = 1057 USD
• Project coordinator = 30 USD/hour x 4 hours/month x 12 months = 1440 USD
• Hire designer for YouTube intro/endscreen & workshop logo = 200 USD
• Marketing (via social media, flyer) = 100 USD/session x 24 sessions = 2400 USD
• Operational cost = 100 USD/month x 12 months = 1200 USD
• Misc (stationery, marketing materials, etc.) = 15 USD/month x 12 months = 180 USD

Key Metrics & Goals

• Introduce new users to Cardano
• Provide a space for Cardano enthusiasts to find each other
• Connect Indonesian talent to Cardano Indonesia Community (developer, entrepreneur)
• Provide quality educational workshops
• Drive adoption of Cardano technology
• Attract more Indonesian people to participate in Catalyst as proposer, CA, vCA or voter
• Hold 24 successful workshops in 1 year.

Roadmap

0-3 months

• Hold bi-weekly workshops, with 6x Zoom events were hosted after 3 months
• Attract new proposer (2 proposals) + 2 CAs from Cardano Indonesia Community to participate in Catalyst Fund 9.

3-6 months

• Hold bi-weekly workshops, with 12 Zoom events were hosted after 6 months.
• Attract new proposer (4 proposals) + 5 CAs + 1 vCA from Cardano Indonesia Community to participate in Catalyst Fund 10.

6-12 months

• Hold bi-weekly workshops, with 24 Zoom events were hosted after 1 year.
• Attract new proposer (6 proposals) + 10 CAs + 2 vCA to participate in Catalyst from Cardano Indonesia Community.
• Prepare for 2023 workshops program. 
• Getting feedback & improving from experiences in year 2022.

Deliverables

We aim to host 24 successful workshops in 1 year. Following that, the continuation of the Cardano educational workshop  may depend on additional sponsorship. 

Our estimated public launch date for the project is February 6th, 2022 and we expect to have successfully carried out 24 workshops by the beginning of 2023.

Auditability (How to track our project progress)

Every successful workshop can be tracked via the Meetup account and we will also post the summary of each event in 🇮🇩 Cardano Forum (which you can find here: https://forum.cardano.org/c/bahasa-indonesia/179/)) including uploading video of the workshop in Cardano Indonesia Official YouTube Channel.
