Cardano and blockchain in general are complicated concepts to comprehend for regular people. Same is true here in East Asia.
Give Cardano a relatable and entertaining persona and roll out an educational and informative campaign through a character Mighty Cardano.
This is the total amount allocated to Storytelling using Mighty Cardano.
We all love stories :)
As we all know, the best way to spread something is to tell a story. Stories have been with us since forever. Oral stories were committed to memory and then passed from generation to generation. Our ancestors also learned to tell them in cave drawings. Now, we have books, movies, blogs, social media, youtube, and more to tell and share our stories.
So, how do we raise the awareness levels of regular people in East Asia? You got it! Stories, of course. Through the eyes of this fictional Cardano character named "Mighty Cardano", his stories in blockchain and Cardano will be shared in the social media setting and use digestible content and user-friendly blockchain terminologies in short stories and comic strips.
Who is Mighty Cardano?
Aki Morota is a young graphic artist living in Hakone, a town in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is a mountainous area known for its hot springs and the magnificent views of the iconic volcano Mount Fuji.
One summer day, Aki got stuck in a new project that was just recently assigned to him. It is a website for a company that is working on blockchain. While this is something he has heard about, he didn't really have the time to deeply look into it. So, when his boss asked him to work on some visuals that will explain blockchain to regular people, he didn't know what to do!
He is not the kind that would easily get stressed. He meditates regularly and would do casual walks in the nearby beech forest with a great view of Lake Ashinoko. These are his ways of aligning his energies to the universe. So, this day, he decided to go out for a walk and meditate under his favorite cedar tree.
During this deep meditation, he saw a green stone shining brightly and heard a soft voice, "Go to the lake." Aki immediately followed this instruction and followed a small light glimmering in the nearby water. The light grew brighter as he comes closer. The stone is just a foot under water so he stretched out to grab it.
It was magical the moment he touched it. Suddenly, something came out of the stone twirling fast upwards. "It" is flying. It continues to fly and fly until it just came around and quickly dives down towards him. It stops about 10 feet above him.
It introduced himself coming from the Planet Cardano and heard Aki's questions. It is on the mission of enlightening people on Cardano and that whoever holds the "mighty" stone, as it refers to the object, it will immediately come to provide answers.
Aki felt delighted with the spectacular experience and relieved that his current dilemma will be resolved. He asked the flying thing if it has a name. It answered, "I am 11111011111". Aki, a bit surprised, replied "Oh, that's a strange name, well... since I just need to hold the mighty stone to call you about Cardano, then I'll just call you Mighty Cardano or MC if you won't mind.
"Mighty Cardano it is", MC replied.
The adventure begins.
How do we introduce Mighty Cardano?
Mighty Cardano who is on a mission to help, educate humankind on the features, advantages, and benefits of this new technology with the goal of onboarding people new on Cardano. We will create graphics and visuals and use them in different digital marketing channels, websites, and social media. These materials will provide links to Cardano and all related blogs to support the knowledge imparted by Mighty Cardano resulting in more visits to the platform.
Initially, we will communicate using English, it being the most common across all the East Asian countries that is the target market for this proposal. Shall this project get good traction, it can be translated to languages specific to the target countries as part of future proposals.
In addition, while the Philippines is in Southeast Asia, we will also include the Philippine market in this campaign and will communicate in English with some Taglish (Tagalog-English) to level with the market’s lingo and slowly immerse them in the system.
Why the Philippines?
Primarily because our team is based in the Philippines so we do know the market very well. There are currently 112 million Filipinos, and on average, they spend 4 hours each day on social media which is the highest in the Asia Pacific. NFT games are also popular like Axie Infinity, of which a significant number of the gamers are Filipinos. In spite of this, a huge number of this segment has limited knowledge of blockchain and Cardano.
Main Challenge: Increase Awareness of Cardano.
As mentioned, we plan to address this through stories of Mighty Cardano. This approach, hopefully, will it make more interesting for regular people to learn and spend time reading about blockchain and Cardano.
The simplified and localized content will give them the confidence to accept Blockchain and the Cardano ecosystem. These can be mediums to promote and lead them to the different concepts, services, products, and relative benefits of blockchain and eventually consider investing in the Cardano ecosystem.
Also, a lot of the young asians are into anime, manga and the likes. So using a similar medium can further increase interests from this group.
Internal Factors
The output of this project would be visuals and short stories on Cardano. We foresee a low to zero risk on this part since these are the things that we can control. Given the time and resources, all this are manageable and doable.,
External Factors
This is true not just for this project but even for other similar proposals here who would like to increase awareness. Getting attention in this digital world would always be challenging. However, this can be mitigated by interesting storytelling and characters that we are building in the Mighty Cardano world.
