Tarax: a news and media DAO

[IMPACT]

The DAO values and Mission will be represented in an open source document, a Community Charter, or similar. A governance board and a voting process will have to be developed, building on experience of ADAO.

The goal is to develop a robust process where each part supports another:

Community Charter serves as a guide, Authors and Core Contributors create content that aligns with Community Charter, and the Community critiques the publications and the Charter and drives the process of organization's adaptation to the environment.

The key to success is creating system of checks and balances withing the organization that will ensure that the DAO will stay true to its Mission and is more cost-efficient than its market competitors.

This project aims at becoming a Cardano-powered platform for publishing blogs, news, etc.

By offering a stakeholder-owned platform, we intend to offer unique value proposition and become more attractive for the users.

• create a Cardano-powered news media and attract users to it to improve visibility and adoption.

• present current insights in form of interesting questions to ponder,
• create a working system with values and mission that will speak to their sense of self-realization, motivate them to contribute.
• offer an opportunity to invest in the future that is better than today.
• How can we develop a sustainable ecosystem while sharing knowledge and efforts?
• develop open source circular economy: value-driven rather then profit-oriented approach, commons creation and solidarity

it might be impossible to find an organizational structure that ensures that a media does not fall leaning on one side or the other

We will start simple and test what works and what does not.

The project is Open Source, and will be licensed as commons. The idea received positive feedback from people I know very little about, so others might pick up and build on what's been done.

Complete a Community Charter draft - 1 month

Create a discord server for discussions

Create a subreddit for posting

Initial testing - by the end of May.

Next phase will include building an incentives system inspired by "Tokenizing github pull request" from Fund5

and iterate.

I am Alex, a Russian citizen who got fed up by lies and propaganda on traditional media.

ADAO, https://www.theadao.io is a DAO for creation of other DAO's - they work hard to develop a robust process that will allow taking any business idea and implementing it in a form of DAO.

Out of scope:

1. Have a DAO with incentives system established and operational
2. We become gathering place for the voices that are silenced: Russian, Chinese, African opposition
3. We attract attention of authorities in a country with free speech suppression
4. We become too big to be hosted on reddit and have to have our own hosting
5. We steal substantial share of reddit users by being decentralized, charismatic, honest and more fun to read and participate in.
