There is an urgent need for clean energy; our new hydro power system will be an evolution for energy generation and prosperity for Africa
Our new technology can be quickly deployed in the field and constructed by local communities overseen by our mobile support team.
This is the total amount allocated to Sustainable Energy For All Africa.
Our new technology can be quickly deployed in the field and constructed by local communities overseen by our mobile support team.
We have technology, a team and the wisdom to deliver energy solutions. Our pilot project in Mauritius will be the launch pad for commercialisation in Indian Ocean and Africa. We're ready to share the technology with others in Africa to achieve these goals via PPP.
We are developing creative Hydro Power Plant (HPP) solutions for use in multiple scenario’s. These include low lying water ways, tidal as well as improvements to existing large scale HPP’s. Africa requires low cost solutions that are effective and simple to operate. Our systems are modular in design, and simple to install. With extensive river networks across Africa the installation of this type of technology will avert situations that are current on the River Nile (for example).
The technology can also be adapted to assist with irrigation of adjacent lands, as well as providing energy for data mining centres. These mining facilities can be operated at relatively low cost, due to energy source, and profits rolled back in to the communities for expansion.
The introduction of new communities that will live adjacent to rivers, will transform the way many live. It will further open up the river networks as a new form of transport and communication across Africa.
Providing low cost solutions and energy to enable communities to grow and prosper is a must for Africa to prosper. We will provide solutions that can be implemented and built by the communities themselves creating new wealth and prosperity. Communities will be able to maintain their own power station using readily available consumable parts.
The technology will perform for a minimum of 30-50 years, with regular maintenance; the cost to install and manufacture is similar to existing other technologies, but has a 2-3 times increased lifetime. ROI can be much quicker due to the short construction times, which can be as short as 4 weeks.
Multiple systems can be deployed taking full advantage of the energy potential of the rivers. We have an holistic approach to our solutions, which is why our technology sits in harmony with nature. It will develop a new eco system which is ready to be shared with other nations in Africa.
Africa is the final continent to be fully electrified. It remains in darkness, despite the rest of the world consuming most of Africa's precious resources. Convincing authorities to create a Public Private Partnership is a challenge, but is not impossible.
Our relationship with Mauritius will be key to growing in Africa and to ensuring other nations too adopt a successful formula.
Communities that have never experienced electricity will need proper understanding in their own languages to make best use of it. Socially integrating electricity in to new regions will be the biggest challenge. Therefore education and training remain the at the core of our work and will require future ambassadors to be in the field.
On completion of the system in Mauritius we will continue to explore Africa beginning in Madagascar where certain areas have virtually no energy supply. We aim to have an Africa focused conference hosted in Mauritius in December 2022, where we shall share the vision.
MAY 2022 - Mauritius system online and delivering energy
JULY 2022 - Inauguration of Tesla Cascading Hydro Power Plant
DEC 2022 - Conference on Tesla's Technology for Africa
MAR 2023 - Detailed survey of Madagascar South and Identify location for pilot
Our operational costs are 9000 USD per month. Our own team will be able to provide the results necessary within a one year period. This request for support is simply to fund expansion in to Africa.
Our existing team will be joined by Pr2 scientists who will assist with the validation of our findings. The existing team have a history of results together, and the inclusion of the 2 scientists will validate the work we are doing.
We will have aerial and ground analysis of the various rivers of Madagascar, which will identify locations best suited for the technology.
Our team will provide concrete data and results of the potentials, and through collaborations with other local teams, we will provide a valuable overview of the path forward. After analysis of the data we will be able to identify potential locations and new communities.
To have a understanding of the energy potential of the river networks using our technology and a working pilot project agreed in another African nation.
This is the first project of this nature in Catalyst.
SDG goals:
Goal 6. Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
Goal 7. Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
SDG subgoals:
6.4 By 2030, substantially increase water-use efficiency across all sectors and ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity
6.5 By 2030, implement integrated water resources management at all levels, including through transboundary cooperation as appropriate
6.6 By 2020, protect and restore water-related ecosystems, including mountains, forests, wetlands, rivers, aquifers and lakes
7.2 By 2030, increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix
Key Performance Indicator (KPI):
6.5.1 Degree of integrated water resources management
7.2.1 Renewable energy share in the total final energy consumption
6.4.2 Level of water stress: freshwater withdrawal as a proportion of available freshwater resources
