[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.

This project Catalyst proposal will allow for further development of the opensource Positive Blockchain database and new web integration. The funds from this proposals will allow us to explore new ways to showcase the information on the database and will help with overall UX for new users using PB.

This proposal will also support development costs to integrate new features in the platform for the Cardano project owners (such as claiming and editing their project pages) so that we can ensure ownership and maintain up-to-date data on the directory.

In the past we were voted on by the Project Catalyst community and got funded to help onboard Cardano projects to the PB database. We are currently in the works of publishing a new version with some of these projects and we will continue to add more blockchain 4 good projects as time progresses.

Our proposed solutions will include:

Research into a new webstack to host the Positive Blockchain database.

• Analysis of other option 
• Try new webstack - learn how they could be better or worse
• Find a good solution for the new web integration

Development:

• Integrate new features and onboard companies to take control of their profiles

• Find core developers
• Reach out to contributors who are Devs and work with partners to develop the next generation of the PB database.

• Developed the V2 of the PB database and integrate new features providing visitors with a wonderful UX.

PositiveBlockchain.io

 Open database, media platform and community exploring the potential of blockchain technologies for social and environmental impact. The database currently lists more than 800 projects and startups using blockchain technology for good. PositiveBlockchain is a contributor-based non-profit association registered in Paris and active globally.

What is our possible Impact?

• Educate society about positive blockchain applications by providing educational content.
• Help navigate the blockchain chaos by providing relevant insights and highlighting impactful solutions.
• Help entrepreneurs and organizations increase their impact with blockchain by curating the Hub and offering tools or support.
• Develop concrete solutions by conducting research projects, consortiums or consulting missions.
• Accelerate the ecosystem of positive blockchain by mobilizing communities, stakeholders, funding through events and more!

Goals and ambitions for PB by the contributors:

• 30% of Project Owners having claimed their projects.

• Advocating the positive impact of blockchain on International Summits and more at the government level.

• We became a vibrant community beyond critical mass doing nice projects, preferred hang-out of the start-up communities in decentralized tech (globally).

• Launch a Think Tank/Program in "developing the future of tech: moral imagination, ethics and sustainability" for designing/pushing the future we want to see in the world (starting conversations, developing usable deliverables and sparking change).

• Be a stronghold and the "go-to" organization for understanding and measuring impact in Blockchain projects (or even broader our tech reach to AI and new technologies in general?).

• The industry needs an agnostic source of data. PB has everything to become this technological cluster of decentralized knowledge. Be persistent.

• Be bold. We went from database to community. From a community to an association. The sky is the limit when it. comes to promote social impact and doing good on earth.

• Become the „crunchbase“ for SDG deep-tech projects

Our quantitative work has been an essential source of data for several qualitative researches:

• New America pulled a lot of data for our database to establish a mapping of blockchain for good (mainly government related) initiatives.

• The Blockchain for Africa and Community Currencies reports directly quote and use PositiveBlockchain.

• The whitepaper on Blockchain for SDGs by Blockchain for Good in France has also used our database.

• Several articles have been published since 2018 using PositiveBlockchain’s work.

 Feedback and uses our database has had:

• The Cryptoeconomics research institute in Vienne did a “due diligence” of our database for their own research work.

• The EU Blockchain Observatory pulled data from our database to feed their EU project mapping.

• A University in France, Lille, is using our database to ask their student to make detailed cases studies by selecting a project in our database.

• Dozens of projects have submitted their project, seeing an interest to be part of it

• Partners such as the Hiveeffect see “your role as an entity providing a platform for blockchain solutions, as well as acting as a catalyst to potentially bring players together to form a consortium.

• An innovation manager at FAO said “he uses our database from time to time to check for new potential entries”.

• Other partners such as Blockchain for Good in France also see us in this role of “catalyst”

[IMPACT] Please describe how your proposed solution will address the Challenge that you have submitted it in.

Why it's important?

The challenge states the ‘Let’s create an enriching, open and safe environment, where people from different communities can find common ground and share knowledge, resources, skills, ideas and visions with one another.’ 

Our proposed solution will impact the challenge we proposed in by helping create an enriching, open and safe environment, where people from different cross chain communities can find common ground. Where these communities can come to PB to share knowledge, resources, skills, ideas and visions with one another. This proposal will allow for the blockchain4good communities to come together on the Positive Blockchain platform and add enriching details and knowledge to their project profiles. Helping provide the entire blockchain space an invaluable open-source resource. We are helping take the steps to break the silos and build bridges and presence between all of the cross-chain communities.

Because this is an open-ended challenge welcoming any proposal geared for cross-chain collaboration and by our community providing “Common research, education, outreach and innovation projects with other chains and communities (e.g. podcasts, hackathons, webinars, communication hubs, educational resources)” this category fits our proposal quite well.

Why is this Challenge needed?

• Because Tribalism & maximalism can be harmful we will help minimize this by helping create an open space for the impact communities of different chains to come together

• This will help the greater blockchain space work towards a multi-chain future.

• With this initiative we aim to help increase communication, coordination and collaboration between different chains.

• This is how we share the solutions to the common challenges, and work towards solving them together.

• Hard to get developers 

We have a strong community and that include our numerous partnerships who will help and support us in finding the right people to build the SGT platform.

• Our timeline is too long

We will make sure to follow our timeline the best we can and with the support of our global team and cross chain community members/contributors part of PB. We believe we will be able to get it done.

Cardano community and leadership, starting from Charles, is highly impact driven. The Cardano mission is to: Make the world work better for all. 

Blockchain is a technology for impact - transparency, traceability, verification, and decentralization all lead to impact on people's lives. 

By providing this resource to the Cardano and greater blockchain community. We will be able to contribute a well functioning and valuable platform for the different cross chain communities to come together and share their similarities with positive impact in Web 3. Creating more awareness between the cross chain communities about the common goals of impact will allow our blockchain space to come together rather than stay apart. We will be creating more awareness of these positive blockchain activities and their impact. Helping build a more inclusive, sustainable, and supportive blockchain space for all.

$15,000 Development for the PB database - $40 an hour for 375 hours paying an Positive Blockchain member or partner developer.

The total pot is 200,000 USD so we are asking for 2.77% of the pot, with a ROI that can have a far larger positive multiplier effect.

Positiveblockchain is a non-profit association exploring the potential of blockchain technologies for social and environmental impact through its open database, knowledge platform and global community. The mission of the association is to build the web of knowledge and support collaboration for technology and social impact enthusiasts looking to leverage blockchain technologies for the U.N. SDGs. Our database currently lists more than 1200 projects and startups using blockchain technologies for social impact. Projects are either crowd-sourced or identified and qualified by Positiveblockchain or its alliance partners comprising associations, universities or blockchain foundations. Yes we may propose in a later fund to help with further cross-chain developments and support for the Positive Blockchain Database. The web integration and new features to the PB database will allow new capabilities and a better UX.

As we have a globally decentralized, experienced, multi skilled and diverse team, working across timezones, and connected to various networks and communities, we can tap into our multiple connections and resources, to ensure we have a sustainable approach to managing our workload if we are to receive funding from Catalyst.

We will show this by providing data on the different Web 3 projects added to the PB and the chains they are associated with.

How does success looks like?

We will show success by addressing and tackling the pain points of the the crosschain impact ecosystem and helping provide a platform for all blockchain companies with a focus on positive impact to showcase their projects to the world. Providing a gateway to an open, inclusives, and supportive greater blockchain ecosystem.

We will be helping create success through the collaborative value creation between Project Catalyst and the Positive Blockchain community. 

We will be revamping the open source cross-chain PB database to incorporate new features and capabilities. Giving the Cardano community and greater blockchain community access to more open-source tools when using PB and interacting with impact projects in our ecosystem.

Yes this proposals in part is a further continuation to begin the PB web integration giving Cardano community members direct access to their profiles where they could update progress on their project.
