Cardano-based decentralized platform and impact dashboard for transparent agricultural value chains & environmental efforts, highlighting local community work through a verified management system.
No dependencies
All the software for this concept will open source, except for Mapbox, a proprietary solution chosen for its accuracy and customizable maps. Mapbox integrates precise data from multiple sources, including proprietary and satellite imagery, making it essential for tracking and verifying environmental impact and agricultural supply chains with transparency and reliability.
The open-source tools we will using include:
The Problem
Many local communities in sustainable agriculture and environmental restoration lack access to technology for transparency and traceability, resulting in unrecognized efforts and limited market access for verified, sustainable products.
Our approach
Our approach is to develop a blockchain-secured platform that addresses this gap by offering a transparent and traceable supply chain for agricultural products and environmental projects. By leveraging the Cardano blockchain, every step in the supply chain is recorded and verified, ensuring the integrity of data and enhancing trust between producers, buyers, and organization. The system will empower local communities to showcase their contributions to sustainable agriculture and environmental efforts, making their products more attractive to global markets.
This solution is not a generic traceability tool; it is specifically designed for agriculture and environmental projects, with a deep understanding of the unique needs of rural and local communities. At Bôndy, we have extensive on-the-ground experience in rural regions, which has shaped the development of a platform that is not only technologically robust but also incredibly user-friendly for those with limited access to modern technology.
Stakeholders
This project will engage a wide range of stakeholders, from local agricultural producers, cooperatives and reforestation NGO to international buyers and governmental organizations. Local producers will gain the tools and knowledge they need to comply with international traceability standards, improving their market access and economic opportunities. Buyers and investors will benefit from increased transparency and verifiable data on the sustainability of the products they purchase or fund.
Prove of Impact
At Bôndy, we have developed an ecosystem of producers, farmers, and clients as the first beneficiaries of this tool. The proof of impact includes:
• Increased trust between stakeholders
• Shorter sales cycles between buyers and sellers
• Enhanced market access for producers
• Validation of products for sustainability
• Local labeling of specific products and services
• Price stabilization for products with proven traceability
A unique value
Our solution is tailored to empower local agricultural producers and environmental initiatives by providing an intuitive, easy-to-use system that allows them to meet international traceability standards without the complexity of traditional systems. We will design this tool with the realities of rural areas in mind, ensuring that it is accessible and scalable, even in regions where technological infrastructure may be limited.
Cardano
This project aligns with Cardano’s mission to drive decentralization, sustainability, and innovation. By introducing blockchain technology into agricultural and environmental supply chains, we are not only solving a practical problem but also promoting broader adoption of Cardano in a sector with high impact potential. This solution highlights the power of blockchain to enhance transparency, build trust, and support sustainable development at the grassroots level.
To define the success of our project, we focus on several key aspects, ensuring a seamless user experience and long-term value for the Cardano ecosystem:
New-User Onboarding
The platform will be designed to easily onboard local producers and farmers, simplifying blockchain integration through intuitive interfaces. By abstracting the complexity of blockchain, users can interact with the system without needing extensive technical knowledge, making Cardano accessible to rural communities.
Abstraction
By abstracting away the technical complexity, we enable end users to benefit from blockchain’s transparency and security without needing to understand its technical details. The seamless experience will attract more users and help them engage with the Cardano network effortlessly, reducing barriers to entry.
User Engagement
The platform will engage users by providing real-time data on product traceability and environmental impact. Local producers will see the tangible benefits of their sustainable practices being verified and communicated to buyers, leading to continued participation and deeper trust in the system.
User Retention
Retention will be driven by the platform’s ability to create value through increased market access and trust. As local communities experience faster sales cycles, improved market visibility, and transparent product validation, they will remain engaged and loyal to the system, creating sustained interaction with the Cardano network.
Network Growth
Each new user and transaction on the platform will add volume to the Cardano network, contributing to its overall growth. As trust builds, we expect additional sectors—beyond agriculture and environmental projects—to explore Cardano for their needs, fostering cross-industry adoption.
-
We will track the project’s impact both quantitatively and qualitatively, focusing on the following key metrics:
The number of local communities and cooperatives using the platform
This metric will reflect how many rural producers and local projects adopt the system for traceability and market access.
The transaction volume on the Cardano blockchain
Increased transaction volume from the use of the platform will demonstrate active engagement and adoption.
The qualitative feedback from stakeholders
Surveys and feedback from local communities, buyers, and investors will provide insights into user satisfaction and the platform’s effectiveness in fostering trust.
-
We will leverage our extensive network within the agricultural and environmental sectors. We regularly participate in global environmental summits such as the COP and international fairs, which provide a platform to showcase our work and Cardano’s role in supporting sustainability. Additionally, we have strong communication channels through our social media networks, where we engage with a growing audience of supporters, partners, and stakeholders.
At Bôndy, we have deep expertise in the agricultural transition, sustainable farming, and landscape restoration, combined with a strong understanding of the social and environmental challenges faced by rural communities. Our extensive experience working on the ground allows us to implement solutions that are not only technically robust but also tailored to the specific needs of these communities.
Over the years, we have worked with several paid tools (without blockchain) that have given us valuable insight into the mechanics and usage patterns of supply chain management and traceability solutions.
To enhance the blockchain component of our project, we have partnered with a blockchain development specialist.
Additionally, we collaborate closely with two leading software development companies in Madagascar, Livenexx https://www.livenexx.fr/reference/ and PULSE https://www.pulse.mg/projets/, both recognized leaders in the country. Their experience in building robust, locally-tailored software solutions will be instrumental in ensuring the success of this project.
Our approach will follow established development practices, including Agile methodologies, to maintain flexibility, ensure high-quality deliverables, and meet project deadlines.
We have successfully raised funds from international Organization, which has strengthened our funding management procedures. With this experience, our processes have become robust, and we are fully capable of managing complex projects like this one.

By leveraging local development teams in Madagascar at competitive rates and combining this with high-level blockchain expertise from Switzerland, the project strikes a balance between cost-efficiency and quality. The total approximate 202-230 Man-Days are allocated strategically to cover all aspects of the project, ensuring a secure, transparent, and scalable solution for the Cardano ecosystem.
Cost Efficiency
90% of the development is being carried out in Madagascar, where daily rates for skilled professionals are significantly lower (570 ADA per day) compared to Europe or North America, making the project cost-effective.
Open-Source Tools
The project will largely use open-source software, promoting transparency, flexibility, and fostering collaboration within the developer community.
High-Quality Delivery
Despite lower costs, we maintain high-quality standards by leveraging local expertise while ensuring the platform meets global requirements.
Value to Cardano Ecosystem
By demonstrating the real-world utility of Cardano in agricultural and environmental sectors, we contribute to broader adoption, promoting sustainability and transparency at a much lower cost.
