Small farmers in the Global South lack land use records or rights inhibiting willingness to invest in the farm, or the ability to secure working capital or financial tools to improve productivity.
This is the total amount allocated to RWAA - Real World Agricultural Assets. NFTs (AgAsset Digital Twins) to digitally represent Farms, Fisheries, Forests and Factories/Facilities (agri related) to provide a unique AgAssetDID to enable smallholders to better participate in supply chains..
Create a low cost way to digitally record farm and crop data to facilitate collective bargaining, reduce power of intermediaries and facilitate inclusion into financial ecosystems and supply chains.

Globally over half a billion smallholder farms lack productivity or income stability due to low visibility to and from input and output supply chains. This limits access to agronomy science and financial services. Many farmers also lack official land use historical records and associated rights, inhibiting willingness to invest in the farm, or the ability to securing working capital, agri insurance or NGO support. This results in low productivity and income stability.
In emerging markets, lack of official and reliable farm related records are a key inhibitor, so creating digital digital twins of farms will leapfrog this inhibitor.
RWAA or Agri Digital twins will engage farmers, input suppliers, farmgate buyers, financial ecosystem providers, agri science advisors and other agri supply chain participants, possibly up to end consumers who care about product provenience.
Impact can be measured by number of participants using the RWAA Framework and to tools built upon it.
The RWAA project will bring large numbers real world users from emerging farming areas to the Cardano community. There are 500 million smallholder farms globally support another 200 related small businesses.
Impact will be measured by number of AgAssetNFTs generated and active and number of transactions associated.
Number of AgAssetNFTs will be openly visible as will transaction numbers and value of on-chain transactions for TradeFi, DeInsure and product provenance look-ups on chain. Concentrations of activities will be clear indicators of opportunity hotspots.
I have worked in finance and technology for 40 years and been involved in blockchain since 2015 when a young Vitalik described to me his vision for a World Operating System using blockchain. For 5 years I built parametric weather-indexed insurance products targeted at smallhodler farms, including temperature, drought and typhoon protection (typhoon was built using smart contracts in NEAR, but eventually deployed with a centralised architecture). I have worked in banking and corporate tech, and fintech, and founded and cofounded several financial and tech startups in multiple countries. One p-2-p protocol trade sale and one fintech IPO. I have roamed extensively on the ground in poor rural areas to understand their issues and needs.

Create toolkit to delineate farm borders using combination of satellite data and/or government data and/or mobile GPS data and/or open source GIS frameworks (such as QGIS). Note: This MVP is for product design and pilot purposes and will not include border dispute resolution functionality.
Acceptance Criteria & Evidence of Completion: Ability to map a any given land area and represent it in QGIS.
Use geometry vector data file to create Unique Identifier Hash, which is deterministically re-creatable, even with slight variations in input factors, but without risk of collision with any other Unique Identifier Hash.
Acceptance Criteria & Evidence of Completion: 1. Generate Unique Identifier Hash for a given property geometry sample; 2. Re-generate same Unique Identifier Hash using slightly different inputs for the same property; 3. Rotate property geometry by 30° or move geometry by 30 metres to show no collision of Unique Identifier hash.
Place AgAsset Digital Twin NFT on-chain.
Acceptance Criteria & Evidence of Completion: View AgAsset Digital Twin NFT on-chain.
Store AgAsset Digital Twin NFT associated mapping data in a distributed file system.
Acceptance Criteria & Evidence of Completion: Read stored AgAsset Digital Twin NFT associated mapping data from the distributed file system.
Publish all code under MIT License.
Acceptance Criteria & Evidence of Completion: Assign testers to use the completed tools to: 1. create property geometry data (map); 2. generate Unique Identifier Hash; 3. Place AgAsset Digital Twin NFT on-chain; 4. Store AgAsset Digital Twin NFT associated mapping data in a distributed file system; 5. Read stored AgAsset Digital Twin NFT associated mapping data from the distributed file system.

This project can onboard a large number of currently non-crypto users with real needs that decentralised technologies can most efficiently address as the current systems are either non-existent or rife with corruption and abuse of weaker players. These new user will bring with them their Real World Agricultural Assets so as to be able to protect themselves from abuse by more powerful payer in their ecosystems.
Everybody is tired of "another thing to change one crypto into another crypto, etc.". The blockchain world is waiting for real world use cases that can impact large numbers of people who find little protection from the governments and systems where they live - the aspect where blockchains can be structurally superior to centralised systems.
This RWAA framework has the potential to efficiently onboard a large number of real world users with real world agricultural assets and real world needs without the need to offer high return to entice them.
The costs are estimate drawn on my experience in software development and my familiarity with many participants in the crypto space and understanding of what they will contract for for this kind of project, especially in the recent context of of some of their crypto project funding drying up so they are or soon will be available for contracts at reasonable prices ;)
