There are many ways that wildfires start, faster identification and acknowledgement can greatly reduce their impact.
Utilization of a distributed app to enable incentivised crowdsourcing would greatly reduce the loss of both property and environments.
This is the total amount allocated to BC Wildfire Identification.
The goal would be to incentivise people to submit wildfires they see. This would contribute to new discovery of currently unknown wildfires and help keep the public more aware about existing ones they may be watching or live near by. Each image would be verified through the community that would then be rewarded for contributing.
The goal is to incentivise the public by way of earning Cardano for either an image submission or contribution of verifying a submission utilizing a micropayment contribution model.
A customized notification system could also be setup by each user to be notified of anything happening in relation to their geographic (or plotted region) and pay for this by using their earned rewards for contribution.
Sort term goal is localized to Alberta and BC Canada, to get setup and prove the distributed model.
Longer term (2 years+) is to open up the model region by region globally to enable the distributed intelligent crowdsourcing of localized wildfire identification.
Benefits for Cardano: Enable general public earn and learn about crypto by simple tasks that help the general public. This will also allow the development of a model of smart contracts to enable regional funders and additional stakeholders to help incentivise the pool of a location to make it more attractive for the region to actively contribute.
50000I currently own/run the BC wildfire app that allows the general public to both submit and confirm wildfires but it lacks incentivization.
