Blockchain seems very virtual and a general term to newcomers. Special features are unclear, and mostly only described as laudatory claims.
With energy-efficient, inexpensive small computers, superior technology should be presented in a very visual and marketing-supporting way.
This is the total amount allocated to Cardano on the Rocks.
The Cardano-on-the-Rocks project has already started in 2019. In a first step, a 3d-printable case and building instructions were made freely available. When it became clear that the software used for the ITN phase would not be that of the Mainnet, the project was temporarily paused.
It is now a matter of completing the project, publishing a solid build and configuration manual together with the associated scripts and explanations. Also content that can be used for promotion and demonstration purposes. The instructions and equipment should also be suitable for meetups and hands-on workshops. It should also be possible to use these nodes as oracles or IOT gateways in the future. All this in order to draw the attention of as many developers as possible with more than just virtual containers and to actively address them.
In addition, a real operational Cardano-on-the-Rocks pool is to be operated with two relays as practical proof, producing blocks and displaying real-time power consumption (under 15 watts for all 3 nodes) on a live website.
