(DEI): Decentralized Exam identity

The major part of Education sector are the examinations. We have have created great technologies toward the same in the pandemic including high security proctor system for giving online examinations but still we lack secure and a decentralized identity system which can be operated by everyone individually. For example: In India in the annual engineering entrance examination around 1.6 million students appear every year but due to lack of decentralized identity, the whole process becomes very expensive and hard to implement.

With the help of a secure decentralized identity the whole system can become much smother and cheap. This could be done through Atala Prism, where we can implement a system through which every student can give the examination through a single secure identity which could be further verified at the time of the results. This identity will be common for every exam and can be accessed through smartphone by each student individually.

Three Major Stakeholders:

1. Students
2. Schools and colleges
3. Government

The major challenges will include:

The feasibility and the reach of the system to every student. As this system will be implemented on the large populations, support from the government becomes necessary. Further as it holds a lot of sensitive information about the students, every stakeholder must believe and trust in the security and privacy of the whole system and its implementation.

As my idea is highly scalable, a large proportion of individuals can easily connect and experience various opportunities through it. This will create a sense of equality in society. Also it will contribute in making things more efficient and systematic in the society. Adding to above it is highly sustainable as well.

Through a single decentralized identity students can give multiple exams and also keep track of past results at the same time. Admission to various colleges and schools will also become must easier and streamlined as all the results and transcripts for every students could be accessed by a single secure identity. This will provide more opportunities and freedom to the students as well reduce financial constraints involved in organizing examination.
