Latam Women Cardano Plutus Bootcamp

Impact

Bring more diversity to Cardano. The Cardano dev community in Latam is still small, so by bringing 30 women in, we tackle 2 problems at the same time: boosts the developers community size and bring genre diversity. 

For this impact, we will partner with Laboratoria (https://laboratoria.la/en), an experienced NGO that already helped more the 2000 women to graduate and start working on more than 800 tech companies throughout Latam. Laboratoria's training methodology proved to be fast and effective. For this bootcamp, we will use their unique:

• Project based learning: hands-on approach
• Self-paced mode: each student have her own way to achieve knowledge
• Psychology specialist fully dedicated to understand and help the students journey
• Agile methods skills to help iterative planning and learning 
• Community support, with more than 2.000 women incentivising new comers
• Access to more than 800 companies

• mar-abr/22 - Selection process: 30 women
• may/22 - Bootcamp starts
• oct/22 - Bootcamp finishes
• nov/22 - 30 women get hired and starts working with Cardano 

Definition of Success

30 women graduated in Blockchain / Cardano / Plutus.
KPIs to measure success:

• KPI 1: Awereness: from 0 to 5.000 women tech talent aware of Cardano Bootcamp;
• KPI 2: Engagement: 300 subscribed as candidates to the bootcamp;
• KPI 3: Retention: 30 selected to be part of the bootcamp:
• KPI 4: Engagement: 120 individual study projects delivered by the participants (4 per student) 
• **KPI 5: Employment Rate:**70% of 30 bootcamp attendees got full time jobs on web3 companies

Budget usage

- US$5.000 advertising the bootcamp to attract talent women
- US$5.000 selection process
- US$40.000 bootcamp mentors payments for 6 months
- US$10.000 bootcamp physical infrastructure (meetings, food, perks) 
- US$10.000 talent fest showcase hiring to companies

Team

Daniel is a technology innovator, currently exploring web3 projects. Former CTO in Brazilian startups such as Pravaler - a fintech that offers accessible student loans - also founder and CTO at Playax - an audience development platform for music professionals based on BigData - he also worked for two years as CTO at Elo7 – the biggest crafts marketplace in Brazil.

Worked for 2 years with Laboratoria as bootcamp mentor and technical team lead. Produced hundreds of software development related YouTube videos on his TecNoz Channel, helping thousand of developers to improve their skills (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChYjkvwc_H1I_SeMPg2KM2w). 10k+ score on StackOverflow. 

Experienced working in different programming languages such as Elixir, Ruby, JavaScript and Java, Daniel helped many startups as venture advisor at Monashees Capital and other accelerator programs in Brazil. He is also PhD in Computer Science at University of São Paulo – IME-USP. His PhD research is about Software Startups Ecosystems and Entrepreneurship.

Maria Carmo is the first woman Cardano Ambassador, one of the Cardano early adopter in Brazil, Stake Pool Operator and also YouTuber. Her channel Maria Carmo 369 is dedicated to Cardano and web3 content in Portuguese. https://www.youtube.com/c/MariaCarmo369
