Wall of Gum - A Novel Virtual Place

A rough working prototype of the dApp is coming along (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cx2ogkAecIw). The remaining tasks are as follows:

Expected Public Launch Date: Target launch within 2.5 months of funding, worst-case 3 months.

Weeks 1-2

- ($1750) Purchase hosting for website and retain reserve for hosting fees for blockchain-sync Docker resources and pay fees associated with creating a legal entity. (domain name already purchased)

- ($0) Finish and publish whitepaper, describing the architecture, how to buy and sell gum balls, how the unique "splat" shape is created when a gum ball is stuck to the wall (NFT), and how to buy and sell places on the wall. Also, the insight for how new gum ball types (for example, golden gum, rainbow gum, etc.) can be added over time with no change to the Plutus contract. 

- ($0) Maintain community engagement through sub-reddit /r/wallofgum throughout the project.

Weeks 3-4

- (40 hrs - $2400) Finish the Plutus contract and PAB integration to launch the dApp on testnet 

Weeks 4-8

- (20 hrs - $1200) Collect 1 month of testnet experience before launch on mainnet. Support any bugs/findings 

Weeks 9-10

- Public Launch on mainnet.

- ($1000) Activate early access for Cardano users to acquire gum balls from the virtual gum ball machine. Giveaway gum ball tokens to supporters.

- ($1000) Advertisements to attract new users after launch.

Post Week 10

- (40 hrs - ~$2400) After successful mainnet launch, improve user interface (minimum viable product is focused on core functionality, UI can be improved later with no impact to Plutus contract). The architecture of the solution optimizes the storage on-chain by placing the minimum required information (entropic nonce) which is then used as the seed to define the unique "gum splat" shape. This allows the user interface to be upgraded over time (through spec updates) without impacting ownership of splatted gum, gum balls, or wall slots. 

- Create a stakepool for the project (only after minimum viable product is deployed and working)

Measurement Criteria

Measurement of the interaction with the smart contract EUTxO's (volume and quantity) is an organic means of assessing the success of the project. Many Cardano projects are targeting DeFi and DEX applications. The value of unique, home-grown Cardano projects for developing new dApps will convey the diversity of our ecosystem, a proxy for the relative health of the space.
