Cardano Eco-Village of the Future

The Firefly Shire Ecovillage:

The Firefly Shire is a futuristic eco-village project coming to the US in the summer of 2022.

Our proposal below is for the setup of a Cardano community event space at the Shire.

Our Values:

We want to spread the word about Cardano and make it more accessible while showcasing real-world uses that can also help reduce environmental impact through sustainable building methods and green best practices in power, permaculture, maintenance, services, logistics, products, and supplies. 

Goals:

• Increase adoption of Cardano by immersing people in a tokenized cryptovillage experience surrounded by nature.
• Host community events, blockchain education workshops, festivals, and retreats.
• Incubate Cardano blockchain technologies and live event NFT gamification.
• Create a Blueprint for the Cardano Ecovillages of the future.

Demographic:

People living in or willing to travel to the Pacific Northwest of the US to have a unique experience, with the ability to pay in $ADA. Also those interested in supporting permaculture, sustainable practices, education, and the implementation of crypto in these spaces.

Roadmap:

Phase 1: October – December 2021

Release the Firefly Shire's first collection of NFTs. Lord of the Coins is a collection of 10,000 hand-drawn generative fantasy creature NFTs minted on the Cardano blockchain. It will be released in 3 Series, each with a set of rare creatures and coins. More info here: https://fireflyshire.com/lordofthecoins

Phase 2: January – February 2022

During winter we will work on upgrading features for our website, continue to build our community, explore governance models, and begin collaborating with experts as we finalize initial building plans. NFT holders can expect airdrops and other surprises!

Phase 3: March – August 2022

Volunteer opportunities at the Shire both online and in real life will be available. Volunteers will earn extra NFT rewards, $ADA, and other perks. 

Phase 4: September – November 2022

• Release v.1 of the Shire $ADA booking calendar (open source)
• Release v.1 of the Cardano Ecovillage Blueprint Document
• Shire Event Space Opening Event 

What success looks like:

Having a community event space run on $ADA by Q4 2022.

Budget breakdown

The following is a breakdown of setup costs for hosting community events and retreats at the Firefly Shire. This includes the development of initial tech like the $ADA booking calendar, website token-gating, power source, sound system, and live-event NFT gamification.
