[IMPACT]

We plan to create a way for users to use Milkomeda dApps from their mobile device. Since Milkomeda uses ADA as its base currency for the Cardano deployment, that means you will be able to connect your Cardano wallet to your mobile device and then use the mobile device to interact with Cardano dApps deployed onto Milkomeda

Mobile devices are one of the top user markets and Cardano currently has no good solution for them if they want to use Cardano dApps. With this proposal, we aim to allow users to be able to smoothly use Milkomeda dApps for Cardano from their mobile device giving Cardano access to a new user base which will boost adoption and attract more users to the platform

Google and Apple historically are very much against mobile wallets being able to connect to dApps and have previously banned mobile apps that provide such functionality. They provide no clear guidance on what is allowed and what isn't allowed and have arbitrarily changed their mind in the past. We will do our best to work along restrictions imposed by these platforms, but there is a risk that they don't like our solution.

[FEASIBILITY]

We plan to have a POC of mobile integration with Milkomeda in late Q1 2022 and start working on the dApp connector for mobile in early Q2 2022 with a release in Q3 2022

The budget will be used on the R&D effort for developers to both come up with how to use Milkomeda dApps from a mobile device and then program the implementation

The Flint Wallet team has a long history of contributions to the core Cardano protocol, to wallet infrastructure and has contributed standards to Cardano such as the dApp connector standard.

Step 2: Define the standard we will use to connect to dApps

Step 3: Implement the standard

Progress will be measured according to these three steps in accordance to the timeline we mentioned in the feasibility section

Success looks like many mobile users accessing Cardano dApps through their mobile devices

In this report, we are excited to announce that our team has made significant progress in integrating EVM Milkomeda smart contract support into Flint. This integration marks a major milestone for our project and opens up new possibilities for our users. Significance of the Development: The addition of EVM Milkomeda smart contract support to Flint is a significant development for our project. This integration allows us to leverage the power of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and expand our capabilities to support a wider range of smart contracts. With this integration, we can now provide our users with a more robust and versatile platform for executing smart contracts. This also aligns with our goal of making Flint a comprehensive multichain Wallet. We’re in the process of QAing the final pull request and are preparing the build for release.

Summary

To move assets from Milkomeda C1 sidechain back to Cardano, previously users need to use Milkomeda Cardano Unwrap Bridge. In the previous month, we were showing the ability to send or receive tokens on Milkomeda EVM network. We worked to improve this UX and we can announce that we already successfully unwrapped tokens using only Flint Wallet. This lets users bridge their Milkomeda assets back to Cardano from Flint.

As promised, this month we are excited to share a screen recording showing both a milkADA (Milkomeda C1) transaction, as well as a Milkomeda C1 token send both via Flint wallet (via iOS mobile device) on mainnet. The videos demonstrate real examples of the iOS mobile user experience. From accessing your MilkADA balance, to securely sending milkADA from one wallet to another, followed by a detailed transaction summary. For the token send, you can additionally see the send's success on Blockscout. Our devs continue to working rigorously on this proposal.

Summary

Work progressed towards generating diagrams, a major objective of the original proposal. As a matter of fact, this essentially represents the final major milestone, suggesting we will be able to deliver a project demo video and closeout report significantly ahead of schedule. Again, MLabs' ability to frontload costs is the main reason why this is possible. The essential updates of the last month include involve extending the data types incorporated into main modules. Namely, this includes the PNat and the support for Nbe.

We're still working on mobile-friendliness for Flint. We looked into ethereum-etl for a new back end and it meets some of our needs, but not all of them. In the meantime, we're still working on more Flint Mobile features (biometric unlock, QR code scanning for tx sending, etc).

Summary

Currently we are working on mobile-friendliness for Flint which is related to this feature. The delays in this project are due to the fact that we have shifted resources to work on Cardano features, and we have been blocked in on getting an efficient backend that works with Hyperledger Besu (the version of EVM we are running for Milkomeda C1). We are in the process of trying a new backend (ethereum-etl) that may work better.
