World of Pirates is a fast turn-based strategy online card game, which aims to bring regular gamers to the Cardano blockchain environment offering a smooth transition/entry into blockchain technology.
Our game is free to play, so no new gamer will need to buy any of our NFTs, only when they really like the project, then they can invest in esthetics items, that offer no better performance than the standard ones!
We focus on creating a fun game that any gamer will love to play another match to win points and get rewards. The rewards can be in-game consumables items or NFTs, that can help the player to earn some money once they are ready to learn more about the blockchain.
We want to put the player first and offer him an amazing game with incredible lore that makes the player come and play the game again.
Because we care about the player, we believe that our planet needs to be cared for and we want to make players see that too. That's why we run a campaign to raise funds to protect wildlife, fight against climate change and improve our planet, especially our seas and oceans. If the number of gamers is increasing, we need games that make the gamers aware of their surroundings and problems that they are missing see!
For this fund, we are searching to boost our game development and reach an alpha version of the game faster.
With our game, we will improve the Challenge KPIs by bringing more gamers to the Cardano blockchain and increasing the total users of gaming based on applications build on Cardano. Our focus is on gamers who are not familiar with crypto gaming / Cardano blockchain.
Automatically we will contribute to the number of gaming-based applications built on Cardano and hopefully, our game will stir the interest of regular gamers too. For our game, right now, we have minted already over 2000 CNFTs and this number will just increase in the future (KPI: Number of CNFTs made specifically for gaming).
In the future, we foresee creating fungible tokens, that players will be able to use to set up their battlefields to help with their strategy (KPI: Number of fungible tokens made specifically for gaming).

Needing more resources to develop the game. Currently, besides the fund, we are investing our knowledge, time & experience, but also our own money. Finding the right formula to create an enjoyable game is pretty hard and AAA companies sometimes don't find it, with way bigger teams and funds.
In order to mitigate that risk we already are building a community, we plan to use tools to test our concept, design, and later on the game that big companies are using, by getting in touch with these projects and getting startup/indie studios discounts.
Another way to mitigate the risk of failure we will hire two additional senior game developers with expertise in the areas we are missing (3D Modelling, Sound SFX) to help us create a better game.

In the previous proposal, we needed the funding for the whole prototype, but now we are starting that without the funding. However, we foresee that we will need additional funds to accomplish our next development step faster.
