Retail bottled water has a low/no mineral content leading to poor hydration and fatigue. No Ada payments currently in my business.
High mineral content in water leads to adequate hydration. Include Ada payments into sales process.
This is the total amount allocated to ADA water solutions in Africa.
2. The “Say Yes” website is currently being updated so the Facebook page is currently only available. While upgrading the web page I would like the website developer to figure out how to enable our customers to pay for their product in Ada
3. This will have to be complemented by some advertising to the right community of people using social media advertising. I am already finding someone (A professional) to assist with the marketing once the site is up and running again.
This will further support the family core business which is the supply of adequate and clean water solutions that enables optimal functioning in the body.
Everyone with a phone can obtain access to this clean water..
This can be via a Cardano wallet or a registered and reputable Exchange.
Luno and VALR are both South African Crypto exchanges.
The challenge is to grow the use of Cardano, and thus crypto-graphic currency in Africa.
This solution will enable people who earn Ada to spend their Ada on the SAY Yes company site, thereby enabling a marketplace for ADA earners to spend their ADA at. It will lead to a use case and ‘education’ for many people not knowing what products are available in the ADA and crypto space.
Once this initial pilot is completed, the team will have to gain figure out how this aligns to south African Regulation and accounting practices before continuing with the solution as business as usual
The risk is that people opt for the cheapest possible sources of water (Osmosis, low mineral content, bulk buying from multinationals) and don't consider the impact of not buying PET recycled plastics, or drinking pure spring water that feeds their bodies and is good for them and the environment. To mitigate this we may have to be more niche and select airports and lounges as clients where the market is more aware and prepared to pay for quality.
There are already established clients in this business, however, scaling and awareness is needed as well as more meetings with buyers at big corporates or pharmacies. The product is very popular once it is on the shelf as most people purchase it because they are thirsty and the bottle is quite abstract and well designed.
In Month 1: We would like to engage with a current cardano developer / IO’s PSG team that will work with my team and website developer to architect ways in which we can include ADA payments into our business.
In Month 2: We would like to build the purchase process, including technology build
In Month 3 we would like to run markeing campaigns to have some Ada holders purchase water from our business using both ADA and fiat currency. We aim to demonstrate that one can have a low friction experience using Ada payments compared to the experience one has with the bank or traditional fiat system.
In Month 4, establish the comparative experience and costs between crypto and fiat payments.
After the pilot, In month 5 and beyond: Explore accounting, tax and legal regulatory implications of creating these digital societies and accepting ADA for services and products. Potential to introduce post graduate students to catalyst community and explore use cases at the ‘launch lab’ at University for startups. Potential to expand the site to a market place for various products.
· USD10 000: Consulting team - IOHK PSG team
· USD1000: Website R10k dev + design and payment arrangement in ADA
· USD10 000: stock and product labelling + distribution via courier and gas costs
· USD2000To identify at least 20 individuals to partake in the pilot project. They will each receive an amount of ADA (from this budget) in their wallet so that they can make one purchase in Fiat and one purchase in ADA so we can calculate the friction(time) and cost in order to work on a comparison.
This group will be our pilot ‘control group’
· USD1000: For Marketing and ads - brand exposure
· USD2500: Increase ADA community by giving the first 500 people a 5 ADA reward so that they are encouraged to open and sustain the ADA community.

In Month 3: Ad campaign proof on social media + Test purchase of water with at least 20 Ada holders as a control group. The same 10 people will be able to test the purchase of water with fiat currency. The marketing campaign can have 500 people earn 5Ada for participating in this ADA payments pilot.
In Month 4, Spreadsheet reflecting purchase of water in Fiat and purchase of water in Ada, comparing transaction costs and speed + Press release sharing our learning.
For this project, successful integration of Ada payments into the business would need to be seamless and should lead to a great user experience
