"Dark Money" in political campaigns throughout the entire world runs in exact opposition to the entire ethos of Decentralization.
I have no solution at this time, as my current understaning of crypto-technology and block-chain technology limits my ability to provide one
This is the total amount allocated to Transparancy in Campaign Financing.
My understanding of blockchain technology, within my accounting-trained brain, is that it has the ability to be a fully public, fully auditable, fully decentralized general ledger transaction list for whatever is under it's purview. In my mind, conceptually, the Bitcoin to Eithereum communication issues are similar to me trying to compare two different sets of financial statements that are in two different currency types and I don't know the exchange rate.
The only feature/focus this solution should have is to answer the simple question of: "who is funding candidate X in country Y's run for Z" I am being purposefully vague with intent, as I believe this solution, if done properly, can be applied to every nation-state that currently exists, as well as future nation-states yet to arise.
The audience is humanity, the impact is transparency.
I'm leaving this one to the experts, which are all you wonderful men and women!
Human Nature - Good luck
Corruption in Politics - Good luck
Personal Egos, Broken Promises and Wounded Prides - Looking at you, SundaeSwap (kidding, but am I…?)
We got this
I will clearly need assistance from someone with more project managment experience than I do, I feel like I keep answering "I don't know!" for some of these questions.
Zero budget. Zero profits. All charitable donations (see below).
I am not in this for money. I am not in this for prestige. Mainly, I'm in this for the curiousity, the boredom I'm feeling, and the lolz. So, ideally, people willing to donate their incredibly valuable time to this half-baked idea should approach it the way I am. I see so many incredible ideas on this website and I'm envious that I don't have the aptitude for it that you all seem to. But if this particular proposal scratches your itch, then let's brainstorm!
The end goal of this project is to demonstrate the awesome potential of this technology by taking any remaining campaign funds that are raised by a theoretical political party with a set expiration date of November 6th, 2024, and donating the funds to an established charitable organization, or entity in need. My idealistic nature wants to use the current situation in Ukraine as an example, but in the interest of academia and an apolitical outlook for this project
My knowledge base on implementing projects of this scope is even smaller than my knowledge base on crypto! When NetSuite shows me a simple arrow flowchart, I go "yeah but where are the numbers?"
All jokes aside, I'm asking for any/all guidance for this, have no idea how to answer this prompt.
Another "I defer to the project management experts" answer here
The ability for an established political organization to utilize modern technology in an effort to provide transparency and auditability to the populace they wish to lead
This proposal is an original idea, as far as I am aware. If any prior proposals of this nature have been made, I am currently unaware of them, and will happily drop this proposal entirely to support their own, assuming any progress has been made on it.
If I am violating community guidelines I am unaware of by making a proposal of this nature, please let me know and I will remove the proposal!
Not sure if I am doing this right, apologies if I'm not!
