DAO-NET currently only allows users to vote on budget and other issues using a centralized website which limits its adoption rate and resilience to attacks.
DAO-NET will integrate its voting interface with one or more open source wallets to make the solution more decentralized and to increase adoption via introduction to existing wallet users.
This is the total amount allocated to DAO-NET: Voting Wallet Integration.
This proposal includes creating a mobile and web browser extension version of a voting client application that will be used by DAO-NET members to vote on budgets, other issues, and to manage DAO-NET tokens. The intention is to use an existing open source wallet for Cardano and add the features to that wallet if possible. The preference is to collaborate with the original wallet developers to develop these features however at the time of writing no collaboration has been arranged yet.
The existing web server based interface, that will be integrated into the new voting dapp and wallets, can be seen in the test link provided. The new dapp will continue to allow users to select from multiple languages.
This project aligns with the Challenge direction of integration with existing products including DAO-NET itself and ADA wallets. The value for end users will be the ability to manage DAO-NET voting and tokens using a decentralized application that will make the DAO-NET ecosystem more resilient towards attempts to shut the system down by targeting the current centralized website.
This application, as part of the DAO-NET suite, is expected to attract many new users to the Cardano ecosystem while voting on funding the development of many new applications which directly aligns with the Challenge metrics.
The main challenge will be finding an existing open source wallet developers with which to partner. The list of open source wallets is readily available along with the developers so identifying interest should be straightforward. In the event that no wallet developers are interested then the intention will be to fork the most compatible open source wallet and perform all the work with the DAO Coders consulting team.
Conversely, there may be more than one open source wallet developer team willing to work with DAO Coders on this project. In that event then DAO COders will negotiate with both teams to see if splitting the funding could result in multiple wallets being integrated otherwise DAO Coders will simply select the wallet deemed most compatible with our requirements.
Integrating a multilingual user interface design with existing open source wallets may prove problematic and entail more workload than scoped in this proposal. The multilingual aspect may initially be restricted to the voting application portion of the wallet in that case.

Team
Product Manager: Dwayne Collard - 20 years+ IT Consultant, Solutions Analyst, IT Manager, Veteran Community Advisor https://www.linkedin.com/in/dwayne-collard/
Lead Developer: Jude Ben - 9 years+ Software Development , Plutus Smart Contract Development , Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer https://www.linkedin.com/in/judeebene/
Wallet Developers: To be determined with the intention being to partner with the developers of an existing open source wallet but if that is not possible then DAO Coders will recruit additional contractors to its current pool of 3 developers for this project.
** Note that the Product Manager and Lead Developer positions provide technical direction and oversight of the contracted development team. These are not full time positions which allows for these individuals to participate in multiple projects, made easier since the projects are interrelated. These individuals managed the 4 successful DAO-NET proposals from Fund 7, all of which will be completed prior to funding release for Fund 9.
Of the 3 successful DAO-NET proposals from Fund 8, one is scheduled for completion prior to funding release for Fund 9 therefore even if all 4 DAO-NET proposals from Fund 9 are funded the management team has the capacity to deliver on all the projects.
DAO-NET's initial primary focus is to complement the Project Catalyst funding process by providing an alternative funding process that requires less overhead, takes days instead of months, focuses on small projects (under $10K USD) instead of large projects and provides a means for funding the day-to-day expenses of ongoing services.
While the eventual intention is for the DAO-NET ecosystem to be self-sustaining, initial funding for subsequent redistribution to eligible projects via community voting is envisioned to come from future Project Catalyst proposals in Funds 10-12. (See DAO-NET: Small Developer Funding proposal for an example of how these future funding requests will look).
If Project Catalyst future funding requests are not granted then the project has contingency funding plans however the adoption rate to grow the Cardano and DAO-NET communities is expected to be significantly slower.
Regardless of future funding, the DAO-NET ecosystem which has several minimum viable products, all of which are open source, will be available for the community to use and to build upon.
On a daily basis, we will measure the number of users using the voting dapp, starting in the testing phase. A chart showing daily usage will be included in the monthly progress report to Project Catalyst. The information will be gathered via data mining the blockchain.
On a daily basis, we will measure the number of transactions using the voting dapp, starting in the testing phase. A chart showing daily transactions will be included in the monthly progress report to Project Catalyst. The information will be gathered via data mining the blockchain.
Based upon these metrics, we can also extrapolate the average number of transactions per user on a daily basis as well.
Success upon completion would be a community of over a thousand users every day actively engaged in creating or funding projects, DAOs and services using the voting dapp. On a broader basis, the DAO-NET community should be expanding and evolving with new products, services and decentralized organizational structures on a much more rapid basis than the more formal Project Catalyst approach.
The maximally decentralized DAO-NET ecosystem should become the part of the overall Cardano ecosystem where experiments and new ideas on decentralization, radical transparency and new organizational structures can be rapidly developed, tested and implemented with low risk and at a low cost.
