[IMPACT] Please describe your proposed solution.
- Proposed is the development of a specialized computer security documentation set specifically designed for non-security specialized programmers. The field of cybersecurity is particularly crucial in the internet world, where a large number of online applications and services are being developed. Non-security specialized programmers face significant pressure to both develop applications and ensure their security.
- This documentation set provides fundamental knowledge of computer security. The content primarily focuses on essential knowledge and practical skills that programmers need to know and easily apply. The documentation begins with basic concepts of hardware and software, followed by more in-depth security knowledge, such as identifying network security threats and addressing security vulnerabilities. Moreover, the documentation incorporates practical exercises in the most basic security practices, applicable through software.
- The target audience for this proposal is non-security specialized programmers who already possess programming knowledge and seek to enhance their understanding of computer security to apply it to their developing applications, thereby minimizing the risk of being targeted by hackers.
- The standout feature of this proposal is that all the content in this documentation set is verified by reputable cybersecurity experts with years of experience in the field. With the participation of these experts, we believe that this documentation set will provide great value to non-security specialized programmers, helping them grasp fundamental concepts and acquire practical security skills (please refer to the advisor's profile).
- The structure of the lessons is divided into three modules:Modules 1, 2, and 3: Focus on providing foundational knowledge, covering the most basic concepts related to computer hardware.
- Modules 4, 5, and 6: Focus on providing foundational knowledge of networking and fundamental skills in the security profession.
- Module 7: Lessons on security in the Cardano blockchain.
[IMPACT] How does your proposed solution address the challenge and what benefits will this bring to the Cardano ecosystem?
Problem:
- For non-security specialized programmers, they face a significant challenge of simultaneously developing applications and ensuring their security. To gain in-depth knowledge of security, it typically takes an individual 2-4 years of dedicated study in the field. Additionally, these programmers often struggle to find reliable and high-quality verified security documentation on the internet, further elongating the learning process.
Solution:
- The proposed solution is a computer security documentation set specifically designed for non-security specialized programmers. This documentation set addresses the challenge of programmers lacking the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively implement security measures for their developing applications, thereby reducing the risk of being targeted by attacks. The content of the documentation set is carefully curated from reputable sources, incorporating a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. It is written in a user-friendly and accessible manner, allowing readers to easily comprehend and apply the concepts. The documentation set covers foundational to advanced security topics, providing a comprehensive learning experience.
- The content of this documentation set undergoes strict scrutiny from our team of security experts. It instructs programmers on how to identify security vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. The knowledge acquired can be directly applied during the software development process.
- The proposed solution brings substantial benefits to the Cardano ecosystem. It will attract a new wave of programmers to the Cardano ecosystem, as they will have access to this valuable resource. As a result, more developers will create high-security applications on Cardano, further expanding the ecosystem. The fact that this documentation set is funded through Catalyst, a fund associated with Cardano, enhances the credibility, reputation, and trust of Cardano, particularly among individuals who may not be familiar with the ecosystem. This acts as a catalyst for community building, application development, and service provision on the Cardano platform, driving its expansion.
[IMPACT] How do you intend to measure the success of your project?
Measuring the success of the project based on:
Short-term:
- The proposal's content will be posted on Cardano Stack Exchange and GitHub. These platforms will track the download and usage rates of the documentation. This will indicate the level of interest from programmers in this documentation. If the number of reviews and downloads continues to increase steadily after 6 months, it will demonstrate that our documentation brings significant value to both non-security-focused programmers within the Cardano ecosystem and programmers outside the Cardano ecosystem.
- Number of responses from programmers: We will monitor the feedback and evaluations from programmers within the Cardano ecosystem on Cardano Stack Exchange and GitHub. Through these responses, we will assess the quality of the documentation's content and the impact of the proposal on the Cardano ecosystem.
- Through metrics and user feedback, we will gain a clearer understanding of the project's success and its contribution to the Cardano ecosystem. This evaluation will assess the short-term and long-term impacts of the project and help us improve and enhance the value we bring to the Cardano ecosystem.
Long-term:
- The proposal aims to contribute to an increase in the number of new programmers, who may not be familiar with Cardano, joining the ecosystem. They will learn about developing applications on Cardano, thereby expanding the development of the Cardano ecosystem further.
[IMPACT] Please describe your plans to share the outputs and results of your project?
Our plan to share our outputs is as follows:
- We will promote the documentation through various channels such as our website and social media platforms.
- The content of the documentation will be published on Cardano Stack Exchange and Gitbook. We are collaborating with our partner, vcoincheck.io, and their community, Cardano ADA Vietnam.
- We will create an environment for discussion, learning, and research in the field of security. As we contribute to the Cardano community in North America, we also want to contribute to the development of the Cardano-loving community in Vietnam, as it is my homeland.
- With this plan, we aim to bring the value of security knowledge documentation to non-security-focused programmers, helping them gain a solid understanding of computer security knowledge and skills. Furthermore, we aim to introduce Cardano to many programming communities. Ultimately, these communities will contribute to the growth and development of the Cardano ecosystem.
